there is a huge study field called "elm al quran" "the knowledge of Quran"
this study field is for studying Quran verses..why the God have said them, and when ,and for what!

Wow Mr. Naik. the explanation is fantastic. OK, the theory part of JIHAD is genuine. But what do we say about the practicality. Thanks for accepting the fact that even muslims have misconceptions about JIHAD. But who is listening to your interpretation of JIHAD. I wish, Osama listens to it, and many more muslims, who think on Osama lines. Don't expect the other religions to understand what Islam is all about, before every muslims know what it is.

If Jihad is an 'inner struggle' how come the old, weak, ill, and poor are exempt from it?
Qur'an:9:91 "There is no blame on those who are old, weak, ill, or who find no resources to spend on Jihad, holy fighting, if they are sincere in duty to Allah and His Messenger."
old people excempt from jihad,
what is the matter they are to old to fight with the inner sinful man?
or are they to old to fight a phsical war?
