Please don't kill me, but I prefer the voices in the movie so much more. I really can't stand Christine's voice from the play. Yes, before you ask, I have seen it live. *goes to find a differnt version*
I like them both. I have seen it live in the West End, and I do have it on movie, but I think MC is more suited for the stage. I'm not too keen on Sarah Brightman, even though I share the same first name with her.
i dont understand no matter how many times i watch this movie i dont get why would a guy whos old enough to be a old man want to be with someone whos young enough to be his daughter? it doesnt even sound like their the ones singing it sounds like some one else
i dont understand no matter how many times i watch this movie i dont get why would a guy whos old enough to be a old man want to be with someone whos young enough to be his daughter?
@MrAlpha78 it is the OST of the 1986 Original London West End Stage Show starring Michael Crawford as The Phantom, Sarah Brightman as Christine and Steve Barton as Raoul
WOAH! Love it. I'd seriously blindly follow that voice anywhere. Though, I'd say Tim Gleason Is comparable as Phantom. Side note- When I was a kid, I used to play the cd with my headphones on and listen to this music to sleep lol.
i tried watching the movie with the original characters, but i couldn't do it. it's not as if they're bad, but their voices just didnt have as much effect as the Original London Cast.
Also, the Phantom movie lovers are so caught up on Erik's looks. they're missing the point. The Phantom of the Opera wasn't written so women could fall in love with Erik, but that there was so much more to him than his face. i'd say that yes, the phantom is ugly, but inside he's beautiful (minus the killing lol)
i don't like brightman's voice, she sounds like she has marbles in her mouth and shes too old for it, but before you flame me for this it may be cause i'm not used to her. But I do like Michael Crawford's voice, but Gerard Butler and Michael Crawford's voices are both good
at 7:11 i can't help but burst out laughing. the way he's looking at her, with that particular angle with the camera...seriously, look at it, it's hilarious! more to do with the video: i LOVE MC! i'm SO glad you dubbed the movie, i always wished they used the original cast instead of some random people. AMAZING job, thanks so much!
Michael's voice is good but at some moments it's too high for my liking in what i imagine the phantom sounding. That's why i prefer Gerard's lower voice
and Sucky non-singer type voice... Personally I would have prefered Brad Little, or Anthony Crivello's phantoms but they can sing Gerard Buttler can't
Butler is a fine actor in his own way, but I grew up listening to the original cast on CD, and to me, Michael Crawford will always be the voice of Erik.
I have to say it, congratulations! Everyone was waiting for a movie with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman! In Britain anyway. You say you have made a DVD, where can it be purchased?
You can purchase it through me! Right now i'm accumulating a list of interested people and when school is over i will have time to make a whole bunch of them to ship out.
@Gotenks7Kid Thank you for your interest. Until the beginning of the year i was selling a much improved version of the movie on DVD. However my external hard drive on which all the files were stored decided to die on me. I'm afraid that without redubbing the entire movie again from scratch.. (maybe a project for a rainy day).. i will not be able to offer a DVD for purchase. If you send me a message i can keep you saved so that if and when i have it available again i can let you know!

you know what person who said the thing about the lipsync. emmy and gerlad did it way better then crawford and brightmen. crawford has a puny little voice. and they are amazing singers and i find it dumb for whoever created this video to dubb it as brightmen and crawford!
To my Opinion, Listening Sarah and Michael dubbed in this video, it's better if Gerard and Emmy were to "Lipsync" the ENTIRE Movie. They did good acting, but the Lipsyncing would be very much let me sit and watch through this "movie"
I can't believe it! Michael Crawford just ruined my favorite part of the movie! I love when the Phantom says " I am there inside" and I love how Gerard does it with such a booming amazing voice. But Crawford RUINED it! He has such a puny voice for the Phantom! And I definitely like listening to Emmy Rossum than Sarah Brightman!
Um... please.. don't be too hard on them... Actually, be thankful! Because if it weren't for them, there will be no GOOD Phantom of the Opera today...

I agree 100%! It's my favorite part and he just ruined it! No offense, but I really never liked Michael Crawford. When I first heard the main theme sung by Crawford and Brightman, I couldn't help but laugh at his voice when he sang "The Phantom of the opera is there, inside your mind". I'm sorry, but it just sounded weird. Butler has a deeper voice like I would imagine the phantom.
I'd appreciate both of them for I guess Michael and Gerard have different impression of the Phantom and so they improvised him differently in action and in singing. When they sing the same line differently it shows what they have different interpretation of what the Phantom is thinking by saying that line. Every Phantom has their own interpretations of the role, and they can all be as awsome as long as the interpretations are not far from the Phantom's personality.
I think that they're both good :] In different ways, like Crawford's voice sounds (to me) more open I guess... I can't really explain it... But Butler's voice was more rock and roll-ish.... I dunno it's hard to explain, but I do like both of them!
you are an idiot if you think Gerard Butler was the best Phantom! There's no way on earth he's better than Michael Crawford. They were out of their minds to cast Butler - the man can't sing!! He's a good actor, but all he does is growl his way through the lines he should be singing.
Love it! Michaels voice is sooooooooo orgasmic. To bad they didn't use Michael in the film. I got to see Michael on stage in N.Y. and L.A. and watched the film once and Michael Crawford was beyond amazing.
