Obviously, in studio musicians usually run through 20+ takes of the same track.

If you want to listen to the song, buy the album...If you want to experience the bands emotion, buy a ticket...as simple as it gets. Most bands suck live and have a lot of fuck-ups anyways but they can get away with it as long as they put on one hell of a show.

Hard Rock is the hardest style of all to sing, anytime you have a wraspy edge it takes its toll on your voice big time. I sing all styles and Hard Rock is by far the hardest. I always thought evanescence was a modern version of Dream Theater..

actually, she's a mezzo soprano, so she can't really hit that high of notes.

In fact, she's sometimes a bit sketchy live. I remember seeing them in Mountianveiw during Family Values and she cracked during The Only One, and the note was something like B2 (second B above middle C), which, on a female voice spectrum isn't that high.

She sounded amazing most of that concert though :P

ahhh I don't know about using computers, except for the obvious stuff like sound quality etc...but I've heard very good live performances. Also, remember that watching it on TV or computer is different from being at the venue, and affects the sound. I'd have to agree that she may have been shitfaced...she said that ever since she was performing as a teenager, she gets REALY nervous.
