skip rolling in on my Ranger RCI 2950

I had the first generation 2950... back in 94 and I loved it. I could go anywhere on the band. I recently got another one waiting on it to come in the mail.

Whats the max power these 2950s push out? are they running on a single or dual output transistor

ive always been a fan of the RCI radios as well as the HR 2510s. easy to work on and you can mod them as well. The new 2950s are all SMT and hard for a guy like me with poor eyesight to work on.

Yes the RCI is a wonderful radio, especially the early one's. The later ones' were a little harder to Mod, you needed a board from ranger. The early one's it was simply move a shunt pin. Great rig to use barefoot and with an amp, as you can control the power output from the front panel as it has both a mic gain and RF power output knob on the front panel.

dont run this setup anymore, i now run a general lee.

the amp in this video is an RM italy KL-203, and with the right radio driving it you can see about 125 watts PEP, which isent bad for the price paid..

i love it when the skip rolls in, i talk all over. im in michigan and iv talked to california and alaska.

i now run a general lee on my base with an astatic 636 mic, and it works great.

converting it is also REALY easy too..

well, technically the FCC dosent want you to do that, but if can be done. theres jumpers on the back of the front board. you can google which one it is. conversion cant be messed up.

I see you have a KL203 Amplifier? How do you like? I have always used a modded CB's but my newest one is coming with a switch in the dead key power so I can use it barefoot or with an amp. Is the KL203 a good amp for a starter. It will be used with a Cobra 29 'Stealth Modified' done by Sparky's CB Shack

infact thats the only time iv ever heard him. its skip, t does come in that strong all summer here. i live on top of a hill here in michigan.
