the first chord your pinky should be on the8th fret of the d string with yourmiddle finger on the 7th fret of the d string then he lets offthe 8th when he puts his pointer on the 6th fret of the low E
this is a fantastic vid. youve really helped me with most of my favorite dave matthews songs. only thing is, theres an intro thats played in live at las vegas with tim and 2010 live at new york city. any help with that you be great! thanks again mastamef, youre the man
@jwhitmore07 I don't, I'm afraid. though I won't deny that it would be awesome to learn a solo exactly (or nearly exactly) the same way tim plays it (like, tripping billies off of luther college, for example), I find that learning solos is extremely painstaking and, in my opinion, a little unnatural. I'd suggest you simply play your own solo over the key as it would be far more valuable practice than trying to learn every note in the sequence of a solo
It looks like the slide 8/10 is a down stroke. After that I am not sure what you do. It looks like you do a up stroke next but I am not sure if you hit the 10 or go straight into the mutes. Could you explain how many mutes you use and what strokes (up/down) ? Would be a HUGE help, thanks
do you know how to play the intro to One Sweet World? I've looked at other people doing it, but they do it too fast for me to keep up. I'm talking about the old intro that you didn't play in this one by the way. I'd really like to learn it and figured asking you would be my best bet lol. Thanks!
yeah, carter really shows himself well in this vid. as for satellite, you should be all set. I've already got an instructional for that one uploaded (if you haven't already found it).
i cannot seem to get the timing down for the main riff at all, if you could post like a right hand technique or just give me some strum and picking tips as far as up and down and stuff i would love it, ive been trying for a while now lol, love your vids btw theyre extremely helpful
A tip to anyone trying to play this: If you can muster to bar the sixth fret on the low e and a strings it eliminates some of the movement necessary during the verse. I had trouble remembering to move my index finger when I first began to learn this. Thank you for your videos. You're a tremendous help.
I've gone through depression and you helped me out a lot getting through my tough times by teaching me how to play Dave's song. I thank you much. Can you also do: To much and grace is gone? Thank you brother! You are Awesome!!!
hahahhaha just imagining boyyd tinsley singing into the mic is pretty funny. but awsome video big fan...fan of instructional videos..yea.oh and what was that little chuckle at the beginning?
i'm just laughing at my comatose dog. i started the video before noticing he had found such a comfortable position so i found it funny to see him in the background sleeping.
