  • great job

  • how does reading sheet music work im curious do you just use it as a reference or is it possible with enough practice too play just straight off it?

  • @crisDAwog ever heard of sight reading? (no sarcasm)

  • @dontfunkaround i have but i thought it was just a reference or a way too learn music without the need of a developed ear but ive done some research and from what ive gathered the point of sight reading is too eventually achieve the ability too read and playing at once right if so thats incredible something ide love too learn i learn most by ear or off watching people play

  • @crisDAwog Hey man so in this video I already knew the song and was just using the book for some of the chord changes, So in a way i am just using it for reference, but there was no actual sight reading happening for this. but it is possible to play a tune from a book with no prior practice and that is what would be called sight reading. In this case there is just playing the chord changes and improvisation happening here.

  • @kingofspades242 o kk thanks for clarifying gee that would be nice too be able too do that is there any effective ways too practice sight reading? that you know of =]

  • @crisDAwog so to answer your question it is possible to practice sight reading. Fist you would obviously have to know how to read music, and instead of seeing like each individual note, the goal would be to recognize patterns which helps because than you don't have to read every note by itself. The other thing would be to look a head. like your playing one thing when your eyes are already three beats ahead of you, and this is done by recognizing patterns like for example a run of eighth notes.

  • @kingofspades242 ts alot like reading a book, in terms of how you don't read every letter in it. After you understand all of this it all comes down to PRACTICE! and then more practice. and then.......something good to eat! =)

  • NICE!!

  • what song is this? and what book are you getting that from...sounds so gooood lol

  • @thedonace213 The song is called In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning, hence the title haha
