Gat myt not be dead because in sr3 it shows zombie fats face all messed up but we can still tell it's gat and in sr1 Lin dies by drowning in the trunk of the car yet she has her arm as a weapon and her face got messes. Well the zombie homies have always been a novelty thing and we never see for certain Johnny dying, unlike virtually every other character good or bad. Thus I'd say it is quite possible Johnny is alive.

The gameplay is FUCKIN amazing no lie what I don't like is that Johnny dies, and that you have to chose to kill Killbane or save Shaundi at the end. And the Zombie Island stays as Zombie Island even after you beat the game so you can go there and kill them
