Hatsune Miku is one of the Vocaloids, a program created by Crypton. This program is used to reproduce songs with her voice and/or create songs from scratch. There are American Vocaloids, but I find them less interesting, because they are suited to sing country.

Vocaloid is pretty expensive, since they're sold for 200 dollars.
