In order for "Ramjet" to stand properly in robot mode, you need to slide the wing assemblies on the lower legs UP so that the tail fins line up with the bottom of the feet. They slide along black plastic rails, and snap in place. I have the "Thrust" version, and it stands up fine. By the way, "Thrust's" arm guns have removable "Bullpup" missiles, instead of those droptanks on "Ramjet".
I have Bandai, Takara and Yamato valkyries as well. I would agree the old Bandai/Takatoku Valkyries were solid, but the current Macross frontier stuff is o.k. Some of the paint tends to rub off, and my Ozma even broke at a pivot point. Early Yamato toys had more diecast, but transformed lousy, and the modern Yamato stuff transforms better, but feels like model kit plastic, with quality issues. Takara makes good stuff mostly, such as Binaltech & masterpiece, except the 1st Rodimus.
Sorry it just really seems like you just bought the toy for the review. There was no sense of YOU trying to enjoy it. I'm sick at home and I don't mean to seem like a troll.
Is it the best ramjet you can get? Ooh, ooh, I can't flip these panels up even though the whole thing comes off and you can look right at the hinge. It's not possible to watch this.
I don't own any of the takara masterpiece seekers but I do own hasbro's masterpiece skywarp and to me my pp03j just seems to be of higher quality all around.
Also looking forward to the 29 review! I am with you on the hip kibble. I actually prefer it. I think that you can get the wongs folded back to support the figure standing, and the communicator pictures are different on each version with a variety of stickers. I have the same kind of observations as you here, except that I really like as a result. Waiting for the other three to get released now.
Read the comic Right to Left instead of Left to Right. I imagine if igear is a chinese company, then that's how the oriented the book.
Better quality than I was expecting from Igear. And Its nice that its in scale with the other masterpieces. Rather than an atempt at downscaling that engineering ala faith leader.
@tenzeku123 iGear copied Hasbro/Takara's Masterpiece Starscream mold and tweaked it. They're doing a whole bunch of the Seekers. So yes, it's a remold, but it's a third-party product.
