im from the how do you say "disgusting" US and as a matter of FACT i have a friend here who happens to have two of these wonderful cats and they are happy in their home with him he takes care of them and loves them dearly. so what if they are from norway or wherever else as long as they are taken care of what should it matter where they are?
@silentbutdeadly003 You should have made your reply to 'TheClarenceter' - it is not I that that referred to the USA as disgusting: indeed, my brother lives there, and I have greatly enjoyed my visits. And yes, I absolutely agree with you. If you look, you will see that I have posted a couple of replies to 'TheClarenceter'.
@lyndon1904 im sorry that comment wasnt referred to you, it was a comment to "TheClarenceter" it just kinda upset me the fact he said my country was disgusting, ya in some parts of US it is but not all parts
This couple reminds me of the two cats I used to have.
The greyish one is an exact copy, but my other cat had much more yellowish and fairer hair and wasn't as striped as yours. I can't remember her eye colours, though.
My grey one was actually the mother of my other yellow one. :)
what a beautiful pair they are! as for those strange comments, cat deserve to be wherever they are happy, loved, and well taken care of. :) as they clearly are here
Aww just adorable. Had quite a few Norwegian Forest cats when I was younger. I miss them. This video reminds me of them. Great cats you have there, you seem to have a great little garden for them :)
@TheClarenceter OK - so Siamese cats 'belong' only in Thailand; Weimarana dogs belong only in the Weimar region of Germany; Burmese cats belong only in Burma; Scottish terriers belong only in Scotland; Yorkshire terriers belong only in Yorkshire, England, etc. Well, you're entitled to your opinion :)
a less subjective translation would be these cats are said to originate in the region that is currently occupied by said countries (presumably), as far as politics is concerned - which is mathematically indistinguishable from zero.
What a beautiful video. Such happy chappies. I love how they always come to you for a hello , then its back to business. We have a 2yr old NFC female (Jade) in Australia. She has changed our lives. So smart that it scares me. We will get Jade a mate down the track then its double the trouble.
And as for the comment from TheClarenceter, could you possibly crawl back under your rock thank you. Maybe come out from under it when the world dose not scare you so much. Pathetic view you have.
@TheClarenceter What a strange comment. These cats are, in fact, in England. Is that better than 'the disgusting US', or worse? It would be interesting to read another of your well thought-out observations.
@TheClarenceter Well, to be fair the Vikings imported the breed to Scandinavia from foreign countries, so it does not technically belong to Norway, Sweden, Denmark in particular.
Also, it's frankly none of your business as an Irishman to give a fly about the distribution of foreign cats throughout the world. Especially when it doesn't concern you or your country.
@flensdude The vikings did not import any cats you effete cunt. Its is my business when your disgusting half-breeds may be imported as pets to my country. Any domesticated cat from throughout the British Isles is none of your business as a Norwegian, neither is music, cinema or culture from here. So please start off by fucking off from YT since it is of Anglosphere product.
@TheClarenceter I'll admit that they didn't import the breed itself to Scandinavia, but they did import other breeds which were mixed together to become the Norwegian Forest Cat. Yes, they did import cats.
And the reason why I said you shouldn't give a fly is because you want to ruin the joy people get from such a breed. So, no, it's none of your business what gives joy to people. Nor is banning products which hardly can count as being English. (YT is perhaps the only exception in your list.)
@flensdude Having a pet is not about joy. Having a pet served a purpose, dogs for hunting and cats for ratting. Hence should every nation on this planet keep to their own breeds and not import anything.
For some this purpose is joy in their life, yet you fail to see that.
>Hence should every nation keep to their own breeds
To be fair, a lot of animals and plants are alien species to many countries. Like horses on Iceland and in the Americas. Even potatoes, maize, oranges, coffee and tea 'shouldn't' be planted anywhere but their respective place of origins. (Europe is not that place.)
@flensdude Lol, the vikings were but an exaggerated story. They weren't nearly as mighty as any Scandinavian gimp might suggest. You tardy Scandinavians take pride in something you have no relation to. They went and didn't turn back, hence no relation to modern day Scandinavians. I am tired of seeing Scandinavians on the Internet or traveling around the world. You should all be quarantined from the rest of the world.
Yes, I agree, the Vikings were an exaggerated story--partially. What is historical about them is nonetheless true.
"They went and didn't turn back, hence no relation to modern day Scandinavians." Woah, what degree do you have in history?
Anyway, whatever pride I have in my family tree doesn't concern my original comment. I just stated a valid fact, i.e. [some] Vikings went on crusades and brought stuff back. What does that have to with pride?
@TheClarenceter So Sigurd 'Jorsalfare' ('Jorsal' = Jerusalem, 'fare' = traveller), who was king of Norway, just got his nickname not because he went crusading in the Holy Lands, but because he just liked the ring to it.
And all gold with inscriptions in Latin, some coming from the Byzantine Empire, were never really brought back by the Vikings, but happened to rain from the sky.
And all the sagas we have in Norway and Iceland about Greenland and Vinland (Newfoundland) were all made up.
@TheClarenceter And no, I'm not trying to glorify the Vikings. In fact, why we're even discussing their history on a video about cats beats me. I think it's totally irrelevant, and I will stop commenting about it.
@flensdude It's none of your business searching up English-based videos on the Internet, nor any other language in the Anglosphere for that matter, because you are a Norwegian. It is none of your business to speak or type in the English language, or watch or use anything from the Anglo-sphere.
@TheClarenceter If you're going this far, I might as well tell you that the words "window", "sister" and "bag" have their origin in the Norse language, which of course belongs to Scandinavia. I will also urge Ireland to cede their control over the city Dublin, which was originally founded by Vikings.
No, I'm just joking. But you see how silly this became?
However, it is none of your business to give a fly about others' joy, especially when it doesn't concern you personally in any shape or form.
@flensdude Loan words do not belong to Scandinavia. The Anglo-Saxons played part in these words more than the Vikings. Dublin was not founded by vikings, Dubh Linn or black pool, was founded long before any vikings settled there. Besides the vikings who settled in Ireland were utterly crushed in the Battle of Clontarf and it's consequences.
@TheClarenceter You know you've got the word 'party pooper' written all over your comments?
I was about to call you a troll, but considering that this is a Norse word, and since you're so obsessed about keeping non Anglo-Saxons words away from the English language, I'll just call you a leprechaun instead.
So please stop leprechauning, it's not funny nor are you particularly any good at it.
My NFC is more tortoise shell coloured. He is the best cat we have ever had. He is so fluffy and he looks like the werewolf Jacob so thats his name <3 He used to go outside and be active but we moved to apartments so now he can't and he's getting flabby :( And Jacob has brought me a full sized Rabbit! O_O
I played this video on my iPad for my Norwegian Forest Cat. He was lying in his bed and I put the screen real close to his face. He was VERY curious and kept trying to paw the screen. Your cats are magnificent! Thanks for posting.
My Norwegian Forest Cat (named Atilla) looks just like your black one (Tortie?) I swear, they must be twins or brothers or something. I'll upload a video of my cat soon. I'll upload a vid of my brother's cat too, Tut, he's not a Norwegian Forest Cat though (we still haven't figured out what breed he is).
NFC loves going outside, and discover things. And, they are exellent hunters! ;) When mine was about five months old, he discovered how to catch mice like his mother, not only play with them. SO, the first week he came home with 15 mice..some alive, some dead. One time he left one on the stairs outside, and it wasn't dead. I just poked gently on it with a stick, and the mouse came alive and ran away pretty fast into the woods...haha, it played dead. :)
This is a beautiful breed of cat, I have a female and is so cute. By his first 2 year of life I had been thinking that his breed is siberian :p but recently i saw 101 cats in animal planet and the video of the norwegian forest cat opened my eyes.
In my house we have a Bombay cat, a Snowshoe cat, 3 ShortHair and my lovely Norwegian forest cat :D
This vid is absolutely adorable. Your Weegies are BEAUtiful! I have 3 myself. Our mom cat is 1 yr. 5 months and her 2 kittens are 7 1/2 weeks old. All three of them play together like there's no tomorrow. This breed have such great personalities... real characters. Your's are just gorgeous. How old are they in this vid?? Thanks for sharing!
Such lovely cats! It appears they don't go outside very often - ? They seem misplaced out in the garden like it is a whole new world they are just discovering.
@2079423644 They go out all the time: the ginger one sometimes disappears for a couple of days. In the video, it WAS a whole new world - they were both little more than kittens, and had only been going outside for a couple of weeks.
@horismoku They're certainly the most affectionate cats we've ever had. Tubby, the ginger one, is a voracious hunter and tends to bring mice in last thing at night - often alive and unharmed, which means we have to catch them. He also catches quite large creatures - magpies, rabbits and even rats and squirrels.
@lyndon1904 yeah ours does the same thing he'll hold somrhing in his mouth and bring it to us without hurting it he plays fetch also the only thing he eats are japanese beetles he eats those like they're going out of style lol take care
@lyndon1904 I've got two cats myself, they're half-breeds though, half domestic house cat with short hair and half Norwegian forest cat :) The one of them is totally like a Nor. Forest Cat, with long hair etc., and he often comes home with birds and mice xD Can sometimes be a bit annoying especially when they're still alive, but i guess it's just a sign of love ^^ The other one is a female with short hair, i guess she's inherited mostly the domestic cat's signatures, although she has a dense fur
@lyndon1904 Norwegian Forest cats are wonderful. I have a girl that's part forest cat. (there's a vid of her on my channel fishing in my fishtank) What I like most about them besides their beauty is that they LOVE having people around them. Korse follows me through the entire house. She also talks a lot. Sounds just like your gray cat. And come on. Look at those tails! <3
i just recently adopted mine from a couple that didnt want him anymore, didnt feed him well and gave him the most ridiculous name ever not to mention never let him out of the house.
Love your cats. They have beautiful faces. They sure seem happy in that enclosed yard.

Aren't you afraid they will jump over your fence and perhaps get lost?
bethrobbins 1 year ago
@bethrobbins They go over the fence all the time - they roam the neighbourhood quite freely!

@lyndon1904
Then they get hit by a car or get shot by idiots with crossbows, BB guns and so on.

Yes, they ARE beautiful. They remind me of my Maine Coons from long ago. What elegant plumes they have for tails!

Cats just love trees. Mine used to sit in the maple tree all afternoon.
