That scoreboard was built by a Toronto company who also installed similar boards for the Forum de Montreal and Boston Garden.
The NHL ordered all teams to install digital timers in 1967 but Dollar Bill refused until the early 70's.
The Stadium analog clock was made by Bulova and the same exact scoreboard was also at Detroit Olympia and Boston Garden and Providence and Buffalo in the AHL.
@fenway941827 The original scoreboard in Maple Leaf Gardens was gray with a white top. It was called the "Dominion" scoreboard because of it's sponsor Dominion Grocery Stores (now Metro Stores). In use 1967 - 1982. It was also known to have two flags mounted on an electric fan hidden inside and lowered to centre ice. When the organist played the National Anthems, The fans would be turned on, and the flags would flutter.
This was one year before the familiar White Way scoreboard with the color messageboards was installed. The 1984 White Way scoreboard is the center hung scoreboard most people remember from Chicago Stadium.
Nice posting. It's amazing how these ceremonies have changed over the years. The Wings ceremony for Yzerman took about 45 minutes and dare I say Hull was bigger.
