This brutha played Jesus (the greatest man ever) in The Gospel of John. Check it out. When you see him portray Jesus, you don't see Henry Ian Cusick. You see Jesus. Trust me. That film was powerful.
From Wikipedia: Henry Ian Cusick Chávez was born in Trujillo, Peru to a Peruvian mother and a Scottish father. After living in Trujillo for two years, his family moved to Spain, then Scotland and lived in Trinidad and Tobago for ten years.
So no wonder he doesn't have a strong local/regional accent.
@demravager I totally agree with you. Eddie vedder was on the cover of rolling stone mag a few years back and I asked my mom why desmond was on the cover
That's the funny part; Ian really is Scottish. Most Scots don't talk like that, hee hee. It's like saying you don't talk American without a Texas twang.
But I know what you mean about Desmond and Penny. At the end of season 4 I thought they were gonna kill him off and at that point I didn't even care about what the writers had in store after that.
I also feel the same. I get slightly angry when they don't have him in the recent episodes. haha i love watching him in the show, as creepy as that sounds. =)
@desmondwatch Henry Ian Cusyk is peruvian he was born in Peru her father is Scotish and his mother peruvian, but he grew up in Trinidad tobago and Scotland
@desmondwatch Hey, you've got that down pretty good XD
Classic classic Lost line! He and Penny are the best parts of Lost. They wouldn't dare kill them off. If the writers did they would get mobbed and beaten and we can't have that, no can we.
I think that's weird, too. He lived in Scotland since he was fifteen and his acting education began in Glasgow so I don't know why they insisted he force a southern scots accent. His own accent wasn't uh... scottish enough I guess?
what I think is funny looking back on old season2 episodes his accent was alot thicker in his original 3-episode arc, and has since toned it down a little after becoming a regular.
Bless his slutty shirts.
