Hey there guys just ordered my beast hackintosh from macsrpcs.com a friend of mine ordered from them, ran Final Cut HD and this thing screams ordered the ATi 5770 cause I game. They have the latest hardware and they have support for the new 980X 6-Core...they have really great prices too...
Take out one of those 9800s and it will still be as fast... This PC is not using "true x16" pci-e slots. Using 2 makes each x8 instead of 1 being x16. + Even if a 9800 is overclocked it is not "top of the line" My one HD-585X-ZABC Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition would BLOW THIS PC THE FUCK UP! and the 5850 is still not "top of the line"

Plus weather or not you are running at full 16x/16x and 16x/8x doesn't make much of a difference. I tested it with my crossfire 5770s on my 790fx-gd70 and got the same fps with both configs in Crysis

@blissinthemix you DO know what bios means? Basic Input Output System. its not a component. its on the ROM chip (or nowadays EEPROM chip). if you want to replace it you will need a lot of very advanced tools.

ATI 5770 (if you really want power then get the 5870, and if you really have cash to spend the 5970) then 4gb of ddr3 ram. you really don't need anything more then that.
the best idea for all you guys is to build your own system or get a friend who knows how. Give him 20 bucks to help you do it and you will be amazed how much money you save.
wow...lame graphics.... NVidia 9000 series are the worse series of NVIDIA. Not to mention that 9800 is already a SLI 8800....and SLI that = 4X8800 and yet not 4 times the performance of 8800. That is why SLI or Crossfire are useless unless you are running multi-mornitor :)

Alienware just got bought out by Dell from what I've been reading so there's another reason to STAY AWAY! I bought the gateway fx542s which isn't the greatest but since I didn't have time to build myself, this was the next best thing. It has a q6600 @2.4 on a 680i mobo, 9600 gt, 4 gigs of ram, 700 watt power supply, 640 gig hard drive, two dvd drives, all for $700 shipped. That was last year just before Christmas. Really not a bad deal at all despite being a prebuilt system..
As of right now I'm running 8 gigs of ram, and two 9600 gt's. I'm still not happy with sli and am looking to get a gtx 275 or more. I will build my next system myself. This gateway is the best computer I've ever had but I could build my own for the same price and it would blow this one away. I just need to do my homework before I jump in. I've never built my own system before and need to research untill my eyes bleed so everythings compatible, lol.
No prob, I didn't have enough space to type a full message, but make sure the video card is PCI-E (They pretty much all are nowadays anyways)
If you need more info, there's tutorials all around the internet, and if you need opinions on a setup once you get all the parts you think you want to put in, head over to the guru3d forums and post something in the general forum like; "Would all these parts work together?" or something like that

Well, I had to send mine in to get fixed. It was a pain in the ass but I'm glad I did it. Basically, I didn't know it wasn't fully functional UNTIL I tried to add a second GPU and 4 more gigs of ram. Turned out the MOBO had a faulty memory slot as well as the second PCI x16 slot. I had to talk to people with India accents who basically read their little paper to "troubleshoot" what my problem is. When my computer finally came back to me 3 weeks later, it worked perfectly...finally.
Now I'm thinking of getting a new case and possibly an evga 750i mobo. My current mobo doesn't allow any kind of overclocks. Nothing stable above 2.5ghz and the q6600 is known to be a good overclocker. This mobo won't allow it. POS ECS, lol. I think thats what the video above uses as well.
machintos isn`t sucks i have one and my first computer was a g3 powerbook and i still have it , it nice but of course that one out of tie i had it for about 6 years now
now i have oc of course easyer and faster to use but machintos has a different world clock slower and everything quiet pc since i have it it has crashed all ready once and had over heating issues as well it is only 5 months old for the ac i have in the 6 years crashed twice and no other issues as well, battery like brand new :)

2 EVGA GeForce 9800gt are $282.00 and over depending where you get it
1 GTX260 is $279.00
Keep in mind the 9800 GT is a rebranded 8800GT same everything. but I am told that a dual sli 9800gt beats a GTX280, so i assume it can beat a GTX260, plus when or if you overclock it always makes a difference. hope that helped =)

Cable management is terrible.
Color is ugly.
Graphics card isn't even that great.
I barely see any vents, would overheat easily.

Everything goes hand in hand really.
Your CPU has to be the same socket type as the Motherboard (And make sure the CPU doesn't exceed the allowed socket wattage)
RAM has to be either DDR2/3 (Whichever your board supports, most Asus boards come with a qualified vendors list for ease.
Any graphics card will work (I suggest a single card config [The new ATI 5xxx series is out this month]
Hard Drive and DVD Drive should be SATA
As long as yur PSU has enough watts and amps 4 your GPU, you're all good

No prob, I didn't have enough space to type a full message, but make sure the video card is PCI-E (They pretty much all are nowadays anyways)
If you need more info, there's tutorials all around the internet, and if you need opinions on a setup once you get all the parts you think you want to put in, head over to the guru3d forums and post something in the general forum like; "Would all these parts work together?" or something like that

Well, I had to send mine in to get fixed. It was a pain in the ass but I'm glad I did it. Basically, I didn't know it wasn't fully functional UNTIL I tried to add a second GPU and 4 more gigs of ram. Turned out the MOBO had a faulty memory slot as well as the second PCI x16 slot. I had to talk to people with India accents who basically read their little paper to "troubleshoot" what my problem is. When my computer finally came back to me 3 weeks later, it worked perfectly...finally.

Now I'm thinking of getting a new case and possibly an evga 750i mobo. My current mobo doesn't allow any kind of overclocks. Nothing stable above 2.5ghz and the q6600 is known to be a good overclocker. This mobo won't allow it. POS ECS, lol. I think thats what the video above uses as well.

machintos isn`t sucks i have one and my first computer was a g3 powerbook and i still have it , it nice but of course that one out of tie i had it for about 6 years now
now i have oc of course easyer and faster to use but machintos has a different world clock slower and everything quiet pc since i have it it has crashed all ready once and had over heating issues as well it is only 5 months old for the ac i have in the 6 years crashed twice and no other issues as well, battery like brand new :)

its a tough call i dont know the benchmarks so you might want to rshearch it but
2 EVGA GeForce 9800gt are $282.00 and over depending where you get it
1 GTX260 is $279.00
Keep in mind the 9800 GT is a rebranded 8800GT same everything. but I am told that a dual sli 9800gt beats a GTX280, so i assume it can beat a GTX260, plus when or if you overclock it always makes a difference. hope that helped =)

windows & dos = microsoft, they emulate DOS within it, everything in windows 64-bit is also 32-bit they dident just toss it out.

32bit only see up too 3.25GB but 64bit goes into the terabytes for ram.
you can have 12GB of ram and a 32bit OS but you will only use 3.25GB, the rest would just go to waste.
64bit OS you can use whatever amount of ram they make so far.
