Blood, dirt, paint from other cars etc.. For those impatient people not getting what this is about, just stop the car and the action for a bit, zoom in and enjoy all the small details.. It REALLY looks like a real car thats been in a few fender benders.

The cars in gta iv will getting dirty after a while, then you must go to the car wash when you want it :D!

Oh but it does make sense. For one, your car does get dirty, and for two, on some missions where your job is to steal a car and sell it, it can make up to 1,000 dollars more just for taking it through the car wash to get it clean.
