My stepfather was a New York State Trooper out of Albany, New York for 10 years. He died of brain cancer shortly after marrying my mother who died of lymphomic cancer a few years ago. My step sister's husband works for the New York State Police and is a drug enforcement officer for the department.

Trooper Chavez, which you will see at 1:18, were in the academy together. During days when I missed my family, Trooper Chavez was always there to console me. He past away in a car accident while he was responding to back up his brother (also a trooper). He was stationed in McAllen and I'm stationed in Harlingen. I was working when he crashed. He died shortly after at the hospital.
