  • tak páni toto bolo moje mládí.Niečo úžasné!.Škoda že je to preč.

  • Glam was unashamedly commercial, but all these bands could cut it live. There was no leg up from reality TV back then, you had to be able to play.

  • John is still touring, sometimes alone and sometimes with 'The Glitter Band'..Gerry Shepherd died quite a few years ago..and John Rossall also tours with his version of The Glitter Band

  • I heard John Springate is still touring

  • who are the band members sheppard and saunders I just read they are dead?

  • shame it had a knock on affect with the glitter band .

  • lots of people will say bad things about gary glitter and rightly sobut the music hasnt changed and it still brings back memories to people from the 70s.

  • Excellent band...great live too.....they didnt need 'that other person' they were great in their own right

  • Excellent song, always enjoyed that double drum kit look.

  • The newest (and best) 'GlamBoy' on the planet is Adam Lambert, he's even better than any of the 70's guys and I never thought I'd ever say that!!

  • we want glam back it would cheer up all of blighty

    the sensational glitter band

  • Glitterband made brilliant music, legends of Glam Rock. Almost number one in the british charts. They had their own fans and following. They did not need Gary then, and they sure dont need him now.... Recy Australia

  • The Glitterband were just brilliant. We loved them, they had their own following. They never did need Gary. They were the Music... Power to Them. Recy Australia

  • Ah..Glam Rock at it's best, the superb seventies, this was the Glitter Bands best of a great choice they did, thank you for posting cubleader

  • Classic stuff

  • What a great man

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • Don't think it 'was a crime to be gay' in the 70's...need to go back to the 60's for that...

  • @robertgtaylor maybe not a crime in the 70's but it should be

  • Comment removed

  • Fantastic to remember so much fun in the 70's, what is wrong with people, in the 70's it was a crime to be gay, watch and listen to the music, 70's music is much better than todays music which is samie and boring this was fun and glam rock was fantastic I know I lived through it. Don't the young people of today understand music and how it progresses. Just goes to show how pathetic and ignorant the youth of today is.

  • Amazing watching this video after so many years, the 70's music was great!

  • This is what being a teenager in the 70's was all about.... Thanks for the memories

  • Used to hate how the producers used ruin the Glitter Band videos by doing all that segment shit instead of kust focusing on the whole band as they did with others. Ruined what could have been way, way better and miore enjoyable video clips to watch.

  • yesterday i was on a festival where they was featured

  • Wow, nostalgia xx

  • the 70,s were just fantastic the music was unbelievable and so much choice too

  • John Springate is the original singer on the early songs as older fans will remember.. But Harvey/John were in the band then too and we won.t turn our backs on that either.

  • @mozzieanneisme Don't forget that Gerry was a main singer as well, after all their first hit 'Angel Face' which he co wrote with John Rossall!

  • reminds me of my lovley ELAINE who so sadly died a short while ago .

goodbye my love , till we meet again

  • Love this song. R.I.P Gerry. 7 years have gone so quick :-(

  • never beat the 70s

  • Gerry Shepherd was a criminally under-rated song-writer... big Beach Boys fan too..

  • Suuuupi

  • Listen to the band - fantastic! We 70s kids were totally spoiled!

  • <3 Gerry!

  • Paedophile or not (and yes I know he is) he is still talented.

As for the band, the were unbelievable. The Glitter band were always awesome, Just a pity so many people bag on them because of Gary's actions. Same with the bay city rollers (as someone mentioned) only one of them was supposedly a paedophile, the other 3 were just gay.

Either way, doesn't change the fact that the glitter band rock!!

  • @ninjakitten87 ....... if one was a paedo, and 3 were gay, what was the other one?

  • Comment removed

  • @KLM452 doesn't mean he had to be anythying. Then same could be asked about the various changes they had over the years..

Should have said "3 of the others" not "the other 3"

  • 2 drummers , how good do they sound ?

adam and the ants' drummers sounded great as well ,

  • the guy wants to get his facts right before slagging off the glittingband it's gary your talking about the glitterband were a great band in the 70's they were 1 of the best bands around, obviously you don't know much about music, you should get your facts right .

  • the guy should know a bout music befor he slags them of, this is the glitterband a very good band that i loved in the 70's your talking about gary get your facts right be for you start judging what other people like.

  • Good song.. :)

  • I'm proud to say...I don't remember this shit !

One step up from the bay city fuckin rollers.

  • then why did you bother to look at it you need theropy

  • Because..as my comment said..I don't remember it..I looked at to see if I did..and I don't..OK smartarse ?

  • One of the best bands of all time. they Rocked!

  • I love glitter!

  • So do 12 year old Vietnamese girls.

  • You guys always rock in my heart..check out their fan site on reverbNation..xx

  • These are really good songs,

  • Fab song, you can see where bands like Def Leppard came from!!

  • glamtastic steve orpington

  • Ace stuff.. I play drums because of these guys. Knitting needles and cushions in them days!!!!!

  • beautiuful memories of hot summers

    schooldays, and a fantastic group

like the glitter band working their magic

    oh for those times again

  • fantastic band......great vocals,,,,,

  • brillant song the best songs ever from 1970 to 1980 you never beat that.what a great beat and song rock on.

  • god im old, blast from the past.x

  • Wow, I would def go back, story of my babysittin year,s (wish I was still there)

  • Fantastic still one of my fave's

  • Is that Harvey Ellison "playing" a guitar ? Always thought he was a saxophonist. Good old Harv.

  • harvey plays tenor, alto & soprano saxes, guitar and piano as well as backing vocals. yep our harv is a very talented guy.

  • Just goes to show you how it's ll changed. Are you watching this with a smile on your face, i am.

  • I should have been alive in the 70s i wear relatively glam-ish stuff, listen to glam rock and I'm only 13! rawr.

  • I was a teenager throughout the 70s-Thanks Glitter band for giving me some great memories.

  • great

  • yep...shows their musical depth in that they had 2 guys who could take on lead vocals and both were great at it! RIP Gerry.

  • has to be said gerry (rip) had the better stronger voice but john was still a star. great song! Supersonic w/mike manfield. bloody hell where did the time go? thanks for posting

  • you should listen to John singing this live-

    TERRIFIC!!

  • Saw them live a few times - brilliant!

  • Those drummers were something else!

  • My dad knows one of them.. i can't remember which one though . lol

  • Man, this takes me back! Good days & good memories. Only ever saw them live once back in 1976 but it was brill!!! Puts todays bands to shame. They really knew how to write a great song.

  • I love this glam rock. I loved it in tyhe 70's and still do. One man does not take away te great music for everyone. Make it known to everyone, that glam rock did include the glitter band

  • OOOOOOooooooooooo I LOVED this song - the little vinyl disc got broken many mooons ago - how fabulous to come across this again!

  • Yep, they produced some really melodic tunes that will never now see the light of day again because they are forever doomed by association with a Monster.

  • Its a shame, that these guys who were excellent in their own right will always be associated with a perverted cunt that the public so rightly derides.

  • great love glitter band

  • "Explosive Hits '75", which lucky bugger has still got it?

  • I liked them

  • wish i was 12 again....great song...stands up really wll

  • I would go back for this music alone - its wonderful and has stood the test of time, I think, Supersonic was the best - so futuristic

  • At the time, I think everyone was amased that this was the Glitterband! They really struck out from this record on, really showing what great songwriters they all were. Their LP 'Listen to the band' is amazing! So diverse. It was a shame that they got stuck with the glam tag, because they could have been bigger...

  • I`m so glad i got the chance to see the Glitter Band and other glam rock bands in the 70`s as a lot have since lost their brilliant front men.

  • Yeah great song...Supersonic, hahaha, I remember that...it's where I first saw/heard *Sparks*, in 1975 - performing "Looks, Looks, Looks" - and I ran right out and bought Propaganda...I've loved Sparks ever since

  • The rainbow at finsbury park north london, those were the days the best glam rock band EVER

  • class song from a brill group

  • Shamefully i only just realised just now that it was the Glitter Band who sang this song, it's an absolute classic and i heard it on the radio just now and was shocked when i found out it was them.

    Brilliant.

  • classic ....who needs gary ..THEY ARE BETTER WITHOUT HIM

  • @lordbucko NO WAY

  • @lordbucko NO WAY average at best....c mon man get real

  • @lordbucko er, they probably wouldn't have a hit without him, let alone a career!

  • Actually...it has been covered only a few years after The Glitter Band by The Stiffs. It's a little faster and harder "new wave" version of the song...and better in my humble opinion.

  • superb song, so surprised it hasnt been covered.....most under rated band of the glam period.

  • Mike Mansfield - "Cue Supersonic!" Those were the days....

  • You are Soooooooooo right! Shall we go back? Anybody else interested?

  • awesome music, i must admit it's a bit dis heartening how garry ended up with the child sex scandal stuff. but the music is still good.

  • one of my alltime favourites. i have them on a live cd. i play it in my car.

great song, beats todays crap bands hands down.

  • Best Song

  • This is a good song even now, remember it well, the other good ones are Lets Get Together Again & Just For You. Thanks for posting it!

  • lest we forget.. Angel Face, The Tears I Cried, Alone Again, People Like You People Like Me, Love In The Sun, Don't Make Promises You Can't Keep, Lay You're Love On Me, Love Street... and there were a couple more too xx

  • I am so thinking of someone special with this song, if you are reading this, you know who you are....xxxxxxx

  • yes i sure do,your so sweet lol

  • ok, its not you coolcork, but you are hilarious anyway...have a good one...

  • is it me?

  • best song ever

  • Very cool. Glad that they went their own way without bum mand and pervert Gary! Years go by but still brilliand music.

  • Wow this takes me back, better than Gary any day! Thanks!

  • My all-time favorite Gary Glitter related song. Fuck Yeah!!!

  • Glitter Band, not Gary....

  • Hey SamtheShammy.. I remember it well. Can recite all the lyrics...and I'm still in my 30's! (Only just)

    ;-)

  • The clip is from the pop programme "Supersonic". Mike Mansfield was the white haired producer. Quality. No one in my office remembers the programme. That shows my age ;o(

  • These guys were natural born anthem writers

  • Has anyone heard the Luke Haines song 'The Glitter Band', which he wrote namechecking this song in particular? It's a belter!

  • I need a haircut like that.

  • thanks for posting all these glitter band vids. Brings back great memories of playing 'hey!' over and over again all those years ago. I loved Gerry Shepherd (RIP) and John Springate. All my mates were into the Bay City Rollers - but these lot were my idols.

  • Those were the days.Brilliant stuff!

  • Only thing missing was Gerry's star shaped guitar!

  • One of my favourite songs.

  • The Glitter band took Glam and added emotion and feeling, it was truly awesome, the chicks loved it :o)

  • BRILLIANT!!!!

  • Thanks for some great memories.

  • Glitter Band at there very best, Excellent.

  • Always Been My Favourite G-Band Song & Was A Big Fan When I Was Little & Was Thrilled When One Of The Bands I Was In Supported Them At Wakefield In 1986 I Think?
