- no, polars have a slightly higher weight range than kodiaks, the largest brown bears. Grizzlies are a separate brown bear subspecies.

@72SGMAN The vast majority of lions live in the savannah & grasslands rather than jungles. A healthy adult lion wouldn't have a chance against a healthy adult tiger. Or a half grown elephant. Lions run away from gorillas & giraffes. Cheetahs, giraffes & zebras are much faster than lions. Male lions do extremely little hunting & very rarely fight anything other than other male lions. Hyenas sometimes run lions off from a kill, outnumbering them by only 2 to 1.

The bears are doing what is natural...they stick to their own. They know that bears of a different colour are not from their own part of the species. The circumstances which would cause these natural enemies to mate probably would be the same circumctances surrounding what causes wolves and coyotes to mate. It`s already happened. These fucking smartass scientists should look into that a bit more.

@72SGMAN The vast majority of lions live in the savannah & grasslands rather than jungles. A healthy adult lion wouldn't have a chance against a healthy adult tiger. Or a half grown elephant. Lions run away from gorillas & giraffes. Cheetahs, giraffes & zebras are much faster than lions. Male lions do extremely little hunting & very rarely fight anything other than other male lions. Hyenas sometimes run lions off from a kill, outnumbering them by only 2 to 1.

Situations where humans have forced animals together have nothing to do with what I was commenting on. The lion being some people's favorite also means nothing as to whether it should be regarded as king of the jungle. Bears do not live in the jungle or savannah.

The bears are doing what is natural...they stick to their own. They know that bears of a different colour are not from their own part of the species. Bears obviously follow their instincts and obviously want to maintain their own class of species. All credibility of this videographer is lost when indicating that the Grizzly is only 300 pounds versus the 1200 pounds of the polar bears. The Grizly in the video is nowhere near 1/4 the size of the polars.
