  • Once AGAIN Canon Ignores Nikon & BAFFLES its cliental ! Medium image quality BETTER cleaner sharper resolution - 18 MP not always useful. CAN 7D metering BE "disengaged" from REAR button focus? WHY does canon BOTHER w/ half-useful cf?.

  • Getting one in a few days... can't wait! 24-70 EF 2.8L USM Lens too :)

  • Hey guys, I wanna film professionally, but I don't know which camera to get... The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i or the Canon EOS 7D... The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i is only like $1,000 with an extra lens, but the Canon EOS 7D is like $1,800 with an extra lens. Is the extra $800 worth it? Or should I get a totally different camera/camcorder?

  • Yeah, a 7D is enough ! I actually cover weddings with a 450D and a 18-55 haha XD ! With a 7D you can be much more than a pro, I mean, a MK III isn't necessary with this type of SLR.

  • Yeh Nikon has a full frame for the same price, but is it not 12 MP or something like that? If Nikon is so great why did not they up the MP from the D300 to the D700?

  • Funny how this brings up lower end bodies, I have a 450D (rebel) with L glass and a 1.4... I have outshot a few full frame bodies~ You dont "have to" spend money on bodie to get amazing results. The bodie accomodates the photographer while the glass accomodatees the photo.

Although I DO plan to get the 7D VERY soon ;)

  • he looks like celine deon :)

  • YES !!! The world as you see it ...

  • Can anyone tell me if the 7D (or the 5D) uses 8 or 10 bits quantization ? What about the compression ? Is it MJPG200 or AVCHD ? Can you output HDSDI ?

    Thank you

  • Why not profesional? I'm a professional photographer and this camera, as a 50D has all you need for making an excellent job. Don't need to spend 6000 bucks in a MK III Ds. The 7D, has 18MP, which is eough. If you need more resolution, buy a Hasselblad. Don't need 10 fps like a MK III... you have 8....is it not enough?. Even more. In the 7D you have two Digic IV....one Digic III on the Mark III..... Pro line?...Yo can be a pro using a 500D if you are good. Pro Line, thats funny.

  • Yeahhhh Bishh

nah this cameras sick im saving for one right now to replace my epic 400d REEGHHHHHH so shit

  • You sir, are one of the few intelligent photographers! Too many times do people waste money on "pro" cameras when they would do much better with a so called semi-pro camera. Or perhaps even an "entry-level" camera. It is after all, the photographer and not the camera that makes the photos!

    Thumbs up to you!

  • Love the idea of the 7D ( but NOT the price) have a 40D & 20D and have not been drawn to the 50D (mixed reviews/price) can't understand why the 7D isn't FF - last call for the 1.6 format ???

Nikon has the D700 FF (nice / used one/ want one) for the same money

    Let's see what 2010/2011 brings..

The 7D at the correct (discounted) would be nice.

  • @mikeismad61

    Too much money... WAIT

  • I am glad i didnt spring for the 50d, but i wouldnt say they got owned, its the next step up from the 50d, its a semi-pro camera, not a pro camera, the 1d is pro line, this the same line and the 5d, hopefully its all its stacked up to be.

  • Not all 50d owners got owned. I purchased my 50D at a place where I can return it for a full refund for any reason for one year. I knew I would choose between Nikon's D300 replacement or Canon's new camera which we all know now is the 7D. 7D here I come.

  • Where would that place be?

  • im 15 and havn't got a job so i'm saving up, i'm aiming ad the 500D but arn't sure if i should spend a 'lil' more and get something like a 7d,

    anyone got any ideas.

  • just give it all you got and fix a job, ask everyone you know if they know someone who needs help with anything, i did. And now I'm buying the panny GF1 in november :D

  • If you are 15, don't worry about bodys right now. Get a cost effective body and start collecting a high quality lens collection. When you get to 20+, you can blow a huge chuck of cash on a fab new body and already have a well stocked collection of lenses. The rule of a photographer is this, ignore any debates of what im about to tell you...

Your Brain > Lenses > Camera Body.

Write that down, and never forget it.

  • thanks alot i'll definitely take your comment into consideration

  • the level feature is the bomb.

  • Swivel LCD screen would have be a nice feature to compliment the HD movie mode and Live view shooting.
