It looks like a standard boom mic stand rigged up with 2 or 3 extra sections.

(The boom sections are detachable, so therefore more can be attached to create a much longer and flexable stand. Although a 4 section boom mic stand that goes 10' up and directly over seems a little excessive to me personally)

it might seem excessive, but when you are singing a lot over the course of a 2-3 hour show (i.e. Matt Cameron or Carter Beauford), leaning to one side the entire time gets really fucking annoying.

when i said exessive, i was refering to the extra sections for the boom stand. 1 extra section would do the exact same job (up and over) just as well.... but it all depends on your priorities, be they practicality or showmanship.
