whoever remixed this dropped the catchy bass, and thats was the hook in this song

It was Todd Terry.

I feel that the bass made the song, especially during the sections that the bass dropped out and then came firing back in on the choruses.

The remix did well though, it charted in the Top 40 in USA, and was remastered for the Absolute Garbage greatest hits album.
