Wow its beautiful. The Music is fantastic as well! It was kinda confusing at first, because I wasn't sure what was happening until I realised it was going backwards. I dont do directing, but maybe it would have been better to somehow link the scenes like they did in memento. But then again its probably pretty hard to do that in a short. The only thing that linked it was the planes, but for a second I thought it was just different people with the same interest in flying haha
Wow everyone that commented saying yay or watever is stupid. HE DID DIE IN THE CRASH. read the description! he is dead & is just looking back at his life from a different persons body at the end.
Well in some parallel universe maybe we made different choices and are different. Amazing to realize that such a small choice triggered by such small incidents leads to something that changes our lives.
When he was a kid he crashed his plane and starting playing as a doctor, the audience is left to assume that some time before the fatal flight he decided he would rather take a job as a Paramedic, probably before, or as a result of his wife breaking up with him.
Its a coinflip decision made as a child, Colin illustrates what a choise made decades ago, could result in. tracking back trough the pilot line. You're shown the outcome of the of both choices when they come together. one resulting in death the other in life.
Such an amazing short video, defiantly one of my favorites since I feel like I share the same love for aviation which the main character does, once you have that passion its a tough thing to loose.
@Bmud Ah, I'm sorry to hear that buddy. I know the feeling. As a moviegoer I feel like I usually miss something big, I have to ask my friends most of the time. :P
@Rsteenoven you have probably seen the work on some of the artists demoreels.. vfx was completed in early 2010, so a bunch of the work went around the web already. certainly no tutorial though.
WOW! Amazing captivating and extremely well done! I hope to see more of your masterpieces in the future!!! Better than the crap that's in the theaters now!!! KEEP GOING!!!!
@effstops You've probably looked into it but crowdfunding, Kickstarter and IndieGoGo and/or other social media fundraising tools might be a good way to go. In any event, I hope you get grants to continue your artistic endeavors. Best of luck again and I'd be more happy to make a modest contribution if you decide to go the aforementioned routes.
Truly brilliant. Didn't expect the ending at all. Some excellent photography in there, beautiful iconic moments. Well done all round to everyone involved.
Reminded me of sliding doors but a condensed version.
So when is the sequel when the medic drives his ambulance off a cliff and we find out he really chose a career as an office worker?
This is superb! Absolutely fantastic! Liked and favourited and you deserve to do so well with this film! You deserve recognition for this! I wish you all the best!
Shit, man. You make me soooooo freekin emotional when watching this sort of story flow ! a Bit confusing though. This guy was dreaming to be a pilot, but switched to becoming a medic. Good decision he made ! It's like seeing into the future. Anyway, Good work Colin.
I like the way the story unfolds and the rug pulls out at the end. Really great work, I actually cared about the character, good job. Well directed and acted. The visuals were also very professional. You used Blender I assume.
Very wonderful. Not only does it look gorgeous, it made me think about my own life and decisions, as a great film should do. :) Can't wait to see more from you!
This is a great film! Miles better than some of the stuff in cinemas at the moment! It tells a really compelling and interesting story with a great twist at the end. Well done!
You shouldnt have such a detailed plot summary in the description though, I watched the short before reading it (glad I did) because it left me trying to work out what was going on while I was watching it - quite enjoyable and rewarding once I started seeing what was going on.
But yeh, been waiting to see this for a while now :)
WOW Colin, Holy Sh*t. You've just done it AGAIN! Everytime you amaze me with great short movies! You're great! And also the whole team! Great work...AGAIN!
