  • i love this song. i love the message, the beat, the story itself, the premise, everything. right up my alley.

  • love the punchline in the end... walking away from the angels... to me it means quit questioning and trying to figure it out.. just be... that's heaven.

  • Forever he will live

  • if you look up geniouse in the dictionary, theres only one definition: eyedea

    R.EYE.P

  • @Sm3rf3000 I looked in multiple dictionaries for "geniouse" and I did not find anything. I just want to say I think its unhealthy to be making up words because people might think you are stupid. lol ;)

  • Beautiful mind

    R.I.P.

  • Miss ya with allofour harts

    .R.I.P.

  • i think its about his music career haha

  • Here's my two cents.. I don't think it's literal. It's not about religion or God. In logic this "1 truth/1 Lie" scenario is a doosy and you can look at it from a multitude of different perspectives, and the more you think about how to solve the riddle, the more likely your going to become incapable of just leaving the riddle alone and going on with your day. That riddle parallels to a lot of the shit in our lives that we overthink, and sometimes the answer we want comes only after we give up.

  • Yea I think he's saying that there's people in this world who have found peace (heaven) in their own lives and want other people to follow their path, but the thing is that we're all different and the only person who know's what you need to find happiness is you. When you live like others tell you to, shit seems to go wrong because you're not you and that's hell. We all have different interpretations though. I like mine.

  • @760odagleD i like yours too. you're a very intelligent man.

  • 1 guy didnt go step by step

  • Best musician ever. Period.

  • iI neeeeeeeed the instrumental!!

  • This song gave me fucking goosebumps, Eyedea really knew how to articulate his thoughts into good poetry.

  • eyedea... youve taught me so well... im coming for you micheal

  • R.I.P. WLYMTWCT

  • whhaaat ! this song is sickk.

  • That's from a movie or book, that bit about the ask the right one of us the right question.... thing. Which is it? anyone?

  • @AEgamesFtw think its labyrinth with david bowie

  • @surgame I had a feeling it was that myself, though I'm not sure.

  • is that really the point? thats funny cause i take something very different from it

quit arguing and enjoy the music for what it means to you

and SHHHHHHHHh so i can hear the track

  • Rhyme In Peace, you were the best.

  • come on i hate rap/hip hop as a genre but Eyedea was a genius, any one who doesn't recognize this is incredibly ignorant

  • I suppose we should also imply he is battling Zeus, Mohammad, Krishna, etc. and all the other gods he didn't believe in. Especially since the point of the song is to say walking away from religion is heaven.

  • @searchn4atheistjesus

You type what I agree with, 100%. You rock.

  • @searchn4atheistjesus nice one. :)

  • @searchn4atheistjesus shut the fuck reatrd its a joke...u know...grow a sense of humor

  • @TheyCallMeMurf Your right. I shouldn't be posting my comment on here. It is just for certain people to comment, but if my comment is to your disliking, then I should have known that and not said anything at all...

  • @searchn4atheistjesus i dont think he meant this to be walking away from religion. i mean yes but also walking away from everything in life and just turning your back on all the bad thoughts anxiety fear. shit like that

  • @yaboo09 It is certainly open to interpretation, however, to me it is pretty clear he is talking about the devil and angel arguing over which path he should take after he died. He seems to be saying once he turned his back to both options, it was bliss. Also, if you listen to other lyrics, interviews, etc. he specifically says he doesn't believe in go,d or religion so that on top makes it more obvious that is what he is referring to. Although, i'm sure he wouldn't want fighting over his lyrics.

  • @searchn4atheistjesus yea i get you. the way i see it is the death was just added to help the story to show that by getting to heaven on earth you just walk away from it all. but yea i didnt mean to argue im just saying because i never had that look on the song. thats pretty interesting actually. i always looked at it the way i just said. yea open interpretation

  • @yaboo09 All good. I have never heard anyone look at it that way either. That's good that you said something, since it seems as though we each learned something.

  • @searchn4atheistjesus God is a metaphor for perfection. I think that Eyedea transcends that brief :)

  • Hello Religion.... Also goodbye...

  • You know, most artists seem to change for the worse as they get older. Eyedea just kept spitting shit more and more real. Where did you go man?

  • All MiKey ever wanted was Oliver Hart RIP

  • one dislike now come on people... this has to be one of the realest song that has been made... no one raps about thing like this... how can u dislike this...

  • @TairyHesticles seriously I see your name all over youtube when it comes to rap music. So thanks for posting amazing music that others neglect

  • the second an Eyedea becomes a belief, it seizes to be a thought to become something real.

  • who the hell would disliked this! ? !

  • @MadSteveo957 one hater:)

  • heard this wen i was 9 and said FUCK MTV!!!!! x)

  • R.EYE.P

  • The opening of this song killed one of my fav self written songs, it starts of similar with the out of body experiences and move on to meeting mmy own death. I have so much respect for him I had to scrap it because dead or alive he smashes anything I write. Live long the Dead man who makes the living scrap their own songs. live long Mikey.

  • i really love this song...if you like this one, check out andy kaufman by sage francis. He pretends he dies, so its kinda different. but still gives you that wierd eerie feeling like this song does.

  • time to battle jesus and god eyedea. bet you'll win. RIP.

  • @Audioscientist

Haven't you heard Even Shadows Have Shadows? he sold his soul to the devil. He'll be battling mofuckin' Leviathan and Lucifer down there! they're more of a competition

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE no, he said "so it's probably better I sold my soul to the devil"

  • @Audioscientist Battle god, nah eyedea wouldn't dare battle himself.

  • let's keep eyedea alive

  • @kmiller812 Yeah let's do that.

  • Damn eyedea, he was a good lookin cat.

  • I love you eyedea i hope this really happens.

  • hey tairy ive talked to you bfore...you ahve shown me alot of good shit...what you think of wiz kahlifa? its atleast new.....and did u hear eyedea died? so sad i heard it was an overdose on oxys???

  • HEY YOU! Go live. ;)

  • Great display of all his talents. Rapping, producing and storytelling, a great and heartfelt story from someone who does not even believe in the subject matter he is discussing, although he may have believed it back in the day. Either way, great song. When this album first came out I listened to it at least 20 times in a row. It's so sad to hear his voice and think that he is not here anymore. R.I.P. Eyedea

  • So sad, you will be missed. I'm totally bummed we'll never hear anything ever again from him. Damn. This has always been one of my favorite eyedea tracks.

  • Rhyme In Peace

  • Just had this track playin in the car...taking into consideration the recent events, this shit hit me like a ton of bricks. Makes you realize how precious life is. Go out today and do something you've never done. Don't know if today might be your last. Rest in Beats Eyedea.

  • Rest in peace Eydea, my heart sunk when i read of your passing, but you will live on through your music

  • I've been listening to this song all night. It feels really intense. Eyedea has some real shit to say. Even before he died I would always get lost in his lyrics. I'm missing him tonight.

  • RIP EYEDEA. even tho you're gone you're music will still inspire thousands. i know i always have and always will spread the word of "Eyedea the greatest lyrical rapper the world will ever see." I'm glad to say he's from my home town. you will live on brother.

  • R.I.P. Eyedea. This is my favorite track of yours.

  • you still the Champion!

    R.I.P.

  • RIP Oliver Hart aka Michael Larson

  • I'll just follow the white light like they do in the movies..

  • "Frustrated with it all - I turned my back to the angels, and when I walked away, to my suprise, I found myself in heaven."

---------- gets THIS much more intense now...

    I can't believe it.

    R.I.P Michael, you'll be terribly missed ;(

    FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!!!

  • so sad :( rip. fuuhhhhkkk u will be missed! :(

  • Just follow the white light like they do in the movies. RIP.

  • RIP

  • RIP Michael Larson aka Eyedea

  • RIP Eyedea, your music lives on!

  • I passed out a shit load of CDS to promote underground hip hop. I put this song on some of the CDS and some random middle Age white guy came to me while I was promoting my hip hop organization and told me he liked this song.

  • RIP bruv. You will always be remembered

  • RIP your lyrics have saved me from sinking, partied with me drinking and always kept me thinking.

  • "I walked away walked away walked straight into heaven..."

  • R.I.P my man..you can go towards the white light now in peace.

  • R.I.P Mike

your music will forever live on

  • @LebannersHook mine too bro. respect

he changed many lives with his philosophical ways

R.I.P im still in shock and its almost been 6 months :'(

  • @LebannersHook As well he did mine.

  • @LebannersHook still listen to by the throat every day

  • damn this song is fricken amazing. i cant stop repeating this. eyedea's a great story teller

  • maybe one day as a society we can think for ourselves instead of accepting the dogma that has been crammed into our minds. think for yourselves people... then maybe we can be free

  • where the fuck have i been?

  • Eyedea truly deserves to be in the ranks of great philosophers such as Plato and Aristole.

  • @RaulOF9 There weren't as many philosophers at that time, and all we know now, we have information from them already, and our own ideas. They have only their own and no one before them. That is one reason why they get so much recognition. I have researched them and came up with some of the ideas same as theirs in my past, before I knew of their work. So should I get that same recognition? It's not important to me personally, but more interesting.

  • where the fuck is coaches and prelude to coaches?

  • @unclebobsson

just throw that in and enjoy.
