  • Spain is the oldest nation

  • This video doesn't have enough views. =[ What a shame. French must truly be ashamed of their past or something. I just don't like modern France.

  • @MontChevalier I believe most French People like their sleezy republic; just a fact! When I saw the recent wedding of William and Kate Windsor in London I was in awe of the pomp, circumstance and heritage of the ancient British Monarchy. What heritage do the French celebrate? The bloody assault on the Bastille? Corrupt presidents pretending pomp as they view their July 14th parades? France is a disgrace and she has been one since her days as a republic. Common and pedestrian; the republic!!

  • May His Royal Highness rest in peace. To myself he was actually His Most Christian Majesty, Henri VI, Roi de France et Navarre. In his person was the legitimacy and the continuity of France as an entity. No president can ever compare to the legitimacy and continuity of a monarch. Vive le Roi!

  • @fairgirl7

While I have far more respect for the house of Orléans than a President or a Bonaparte, the issue with this family is their vital role in the French revolution and the clear as day scheming against the senior house of Bourbon. Really, the dynasty contains some of the more nefarious characters of French history and I don't have much sympathy towards them regaining the throne. At any rate, I'd take any of these pretenders over a continued Republic.

Vive Louis XX! Vive le Roi!

  • @PurePerfection Well certainly Philippe Egalite was at the bottom of the barrel. Louis XVI should have had him exiled or in prison!! I view the Orleans at least as a French Family; descended from Louis XIII. I do not view the Spanish (Louis XX??) pretender as a serious contender. The majority of the French People even acknowledge the Comte de Paris as the head of the true Royal Family of France. The republic is a joke and the Bonapartes are Corsicans(NOT French in my eyes!)

  • @fairgirl7

Louis XX is indeed the Spanish pretender. I'm not keen on using his nationality against him as he does know French. Even if he didn't, he's the most senior heir of Hugh Capet, the founder of the French royal family and that alone makes him the rightful King of France. I don't know about offline, but I'm surprised at how many legitimists I do see monarchist forums and even here on youtube. Worry not about nationality when it comes to monarchy, as royalty may as well be their own =).

  • @PurePerfection King Juan Carlos of Spain does not acknowledge Louis XX? at all; most French People including Jacques Chirac and the late General DeGaulle all acknowledged the primacy of the House of Orleans. The odds of any of them ascending the throne of the lilies is a pipe dream anyway! The French love their seedy, pay to the highest bidder sleazy fifth republic. It suits them!!

  • @fairgirl7

Unfortunately this affliction effects most constitutional monarchy's as well. We can only wish we see the end of useless monarchy or monarchy without aristocracy. Or at least, I can wish if you don't agree. =)

  • @fairgirl7 I agree with you. The pretender, Louis XX, cannot have claims to the throne of France since there was a treaty signed between the French and Spaniards that the Spanish king and all his heirs would have no claims to the french throne. We need to see the return of the French throne to a Frenchman, not an Englishman, nor a German, not even a Pole. He or she must be French. If it ever came to that, I would gladly join the French Foreign Legion and proudly call myself French.

  • @fairgirl7 And to think that the French have the nerve to say they have "culture". You mean that bloodthirsty chansom de marsailles? Ha! Those are just angry pigeons flocking like idiots. What is that?!

The true French culture comes from the glories of its past; a past its too damn ashamed of to be proud of, because of their rebellion for their king, running from who they are, WHAT they are. Disgraces!

But you say it like it is, sister. Amen.

  • @MontChevalier France was the oldest nation state; her monarchy the oldest, her language was spoken at the royal courts of all Europe. She was eldest daughter of the Church ; the coronation at Reims symbolized the intertwining of faith and kingship. The French could have reformed the nation to constitutional monarchy. However, the evil lunatics of the revolution would have no part of compromise; it was their way or the highway. I pray for all the victims of that bloody revolution.

  • the newly count is a shame for the House of Orléans!

  • It would be so interesting to trace his lineage and see how his ancestors escaped the guillotine. He seems like a very nice man.

  • the count of paris really was a strong monarchist and believe in it he make sure all children marry into other royalty or royal nobles and those who didnt were cast off like he truly deserve the throne of france compare to his son the newly count

  • Very nice video of the late King.

  • 90? Wow, he doesn't look it.

  • Vive le roi!
