I've got news for this guy: Obama has already been weakened in the public's eyes due to the fact that this bill has been watered down thanks to the lobbyists who truly pull the strings.
Change we can believe in? No. Don't think so. This isn't true healthcare reform. I wanted Obama to win, but looking at things now, I honestly don't know what to make of it.
In other words PO your mad that the government is only going to chain one arm and take half your pay check instead of taking all your pay check and chaining both your arms? So sad that you can't be a slave to big brother. So sorry that big brother lied to you. You learned an important lesson. Governments lie and never do anything for the betterment of the people. The more the government controls, the less freedom people have and the more expensive everything gets for always the poor and middle c
Take some hope from the fact that he is the only President ever to get even this far with health care reform, and the fact that he has always stated two of his governing principles: take the long view, and keep trying.
You'll never be able to limit their power or trust them until you remove the power of money over the election process & political system.
Good ideas: Publicly funded elections, a viable 3d party, & prohibit campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and deep pocket special interest groups. & find some way to curb deep pocket massive media propaganda campaigns, & somehow incentiviize news channels to provide unbiased meaningful analysis instead of just hyping controversy for ratings.
It seems that all of this stems from corruption of money- If our monetary system was sound - and it is most certainly NOT. We would not have most of the problems we do now. We would have been forced to make much better decisions. I do agree with you, although I think the problem starts a little lower than special interest/corporations etc- They are a symptom of the real distortion.
just in time to tax us with healthcare and cap and trade....oh and dont forget the hidden monetary easing tax! I cant blame all of it on Obama- But for someone who was going to fix everything he cant seem to do anything right. Im not leaving btw!
Well, now that we have to ALL pay for health care, expect there to be many more changes to come to the bill in the future, I predict pleasant changes.
So the people that could not afford it before have less money now and there are millions more of them. Making a law to pay for something does not make that money appear in my pocket. I see pleasant changes to. The decimation of a ridiculously flawed system.
Wow I can get the rich to pay for me because I didnt try , or work hard enough! Thats great. I opt to sit on my ass and be supported by all the NICE people lol...what a joke...I choose option C- Void our government and rebuild it - It MUST be done.
aka...socialism on hold? The government needs to get out of the the health care, automotive, and home financing industries.

I never stated the contrary. Thanks for the lesson, anyhow. I'm sorry to have had some faith in our current President. How 'foolish' of me.

Governments lie but Republicans tell the truth?

When did I ever say Republicans tell the truth?

Republicans are politicians, by definition you cant trust any of them- maybe if we limit their power we wont need to worry as much.

Actually, Obama is repealing the Bush tax cuts for the rich & gave tax cuts to the middle class.

You are going to pay for health care whether you do it through private insurance premiums or taxes.

The dead pay nothing. (referring to myself )

Then, unless your are rich, you should favor the House version which finances more of the reform by tax on the upper income levels.

The rich are the "nice".
Universal access to basic health care removes a burden from peoples lives and allows them more freedom to peruse their dreams.
