  • always reminds me of someone i've tried so hard to forget...yet i listen to it anyway. it's just that great.

  • Elton has an endless list of beautiful songs!!!!!

  • damn he was good looking, and what a voice. I miss the 70's and Elton.... great times

  • the dislike bar is like elton johns ears. you know their there but you can't see them..

  • just love elton john

  • just love elton john

  • Anyone else try to close that banner at the bottom of the screen like it was an ad?

  • Everybody knows this song is about him beating off right? "Hold me closer tiny dancer." "Blue jean baby." "Pretty EYE." "Always with me... Tiny Dancer IN MY HAND."

  • wow its a shame that an elton john song is a victim to the trolls. Please just shut the fuck up and

    listen.

  • Did 8 people really think a two and a half year old wrote that?

  • i dont know what could be more epic...elton's glasses, voice, skill...i know, its definitely the jacket..yeah, the jacket for sure! ...i got to see elton and billy joel in ottawa just a few years ago...it was awesome just like this vid but for a few hours longer

  • This Song:

    >Fantastic Piano

    >Fantastic Lyrics

    >Fantastic Voice

    >Fantastic Person

    Justin Bieber:

    >Baby, Baby, Baby ooooh

    >?????

    >Profit

  • is it just me or did his voice change a lot over the years?

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

  • Such good talent, can't think of anyone else with such talent. He is like the beetles of his genre.

  • All i can say is i like this song end of!!!!!

  • I'm 15 and I appreciate this music WAY more then the music they play now.

  • I am two-and-a-half years old, and I prefer this old music to the sh-t they play in my daycare.

  • @tantzer lol

  • @tantzer I HOPE YOUR DAY CARE EXPLODES

    Love,

    Elton John

  • Actually better than the studio version.....pure, not orchestra tracks added. 88 keys of magic.

  • did anyone else read the captions on the bottom of the screen? haha he's getting LASER SURGERY to fix his eyes and gonna auction off all his spectacles. i've got news for you, i don't actually recall him ever not wearing glasses.

  • @fckmonkey88 Yeah I remember that but clearly that didn't happen, seeing as it's 2012 and this was uploaded in 2009.

  • ....I used to think he said hold me closer tony danza lol

  • "And you can hear me, when I say softly

    Slowly......."

    *loading video*

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!

  • He gets so emotional about what he sings. At around 2:30 he's almost crying.

  • A great song, he had a great voice and great piano ability, still has in part. Fact is that is '80 - 90 production was garbage, until "Songs from the West Coast", great album...and at a certain point he seemed able only to sing at funerals..anyway those songs from early seventies are good, really good..

  • Thumbs up if this song reminds you of fantasizing about sex with Bailey from WKRP In Cincinnati ?

  • my fav is I've seen that movie too

  • tine dancer in my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He can still play like that but the voice has changed. Still great though!

  • Dear everyone:

Please for the love of music can we stop arguing? I mean, it's an ELTON JOHN song. It is actually physically impossible to hate people or be angry while you listen to Elton John. So stop pretending. We all know you're in a fluffy, warm state of mind right now. Act it.

    Love,

    DrDisarper

  • @drdisarper You, dear friend whom I have never met, you are my hero because of your comment.

  • @drdisarper +1

  • 60's was best musical decade Folk, Folkrock, Hardrock, Motown, Stax, Atlantic, Sun Records, Brill building writers, Beatles, Stones, English Invasion. Every 6 mos a "new" sound was in. Elvis, Chuch Berry etal started in 50's but were still going on in 60's

  • Great Stuff . <-------

  • I hate it when people say "There's a lack of good music nowadays", there's great music you just have to look. Sure it's not popular, but that's just how times have changed.

There's still good music being put out folks, all you have to do is not be lazy and wait for it to come to you.

  • @TheTelepathicKid I am pretty damn sure most music today is auto tuned, lip-synced trash that kids get today from mainstream music. It is entertainment, but not talent. You used to have to be able to perform to be a musical performer, not all it takes is a pretty face and lip motion.

  • @truthfromtheword Did I say popular music? What you're describing is popular music. There's still good music that doesn't use lipsync, doesn't use autotune, and requires actual talent.

You yourself said "Mainstream music". I specifically said "Sure it's not popular, but that's just how times have changed."

I think you just read the first sentence of my post and made up your mind on the rest of the fucking thing.

  • @truthfromtheword and what about bands like, The Decemberists, Cold War Kids, Coldplay, Grouplove, Foster the People, Damien Rice, Fiest, Foo Fighters, Josh Ritter, Adele, Rob Thomas...just to name a few. the telepthickid has it right. and i feel dirty for weighing in on a youtube argument.

  • @truthfromtheword nah man. theres some good singers out there still. cee lo green? fabulous singer. so is bruno mars. those are just right off the top of my head, two very talented artists that are incredibly popular. are they as talented as say, elton john or billy joel? nah. but theyre damn good. the real problem is that producers have a retarded amount of power of the songs. but thats turning a little. less kesha, more actual singing.

  • @TheTelepathicKid what are you talking about, just going into a random bar and seeing a great band. There aint no rock scene and the fringe also has faceless average bands. There is no good music being put out., Maybe the Black Crowes and some jam music for thr musicality, not enduring songs-but thats hardly alot. There aint no modern day Page or Elton. One who is under the radar is Grant Lee Phillips

  • @tele757 Use google. It really does help. I'm not into modern rock because most rock bores me. But Google radio stations, online and on the actual radio that play good music, google for interesting and new bands. Find music blogs, find people to talk about music with, people who share your tastes.

Also saying "there ain't no modern day Page or Elton" is a bit silly because music has moved on, expecting music to stay exactly in the same place for the rest of time isn't sensible. Music changes.

  • @MrsGoldstar3 you have got to be the smartest 13 year old in the world. thank YOU.

  • <3 love this song

  • Almost famous!!

  • fuk all u people who hate elton john

  • i whisper slowly softly wheres my money you cheating whore

  • @wife4kidslovingit hahahaha... I love people who joke with I'm X old and I bla bla bla xD

  • Just great !!!

  • You know, Elton ended up getting corrective eye surgery, but I believe that it was around 2002. He had said that he was sick of always loosing his glasses, which I found hilarious being that at the time he had around 4,000 different pairs(Im not joking, look it up). Of course, he still wears glasses, but they ether are not prescription, have no lens, or are sunglasses. Anyway, I love this song, and I don't know about you, but I would kill to own a pair of his glasses.

  • it's ok if you teach others the good music.

  • Does anyone know what kind of microphone he's singing through??

  • @SitDown314 Good quality for 1971...

  • @SitDown314 Looks like a Sennheiser microphone

  • ALWAYS. LIKE THIS TAKES ME. BACK TO GOOD. DAYS

  • Love it! This song sounds like summer..

  • ru you kidding me, some idiot has more view's then this classic.

  • wOw what a vOice

  • DAMN YOU CRAIG DAVID!!! MY ARCH NEMESIS!!!

  • beautiful !

  • What does he mean "now she's in me"? Did he kill and eat her? Is this a song about cannibalism by 70's rock bands?

  • im 306 oh wait.... i forgot nobody cares how old you are....

  • My favorite song ever. My favorite artist ever. Nothing gets to my soul as deep as Elton.

  • <333

  • I don't want to live in a world with out his music.

  • he like to dress like girls

  • I hate how whenever I watch a video of music from a different decade there's some wise-ass (even more annoying when it's a tween/teen) announcing their age and saying how bad music today is. Does it really have to always be a war or competition between genres and decades? We were all brought here because we like this song, and this artist, clearly people will always care about what came before, so quit trashing modern music.. It's just shallow.

  • @HotBroodish

yo im wit tht. i was born way aftr ths song was made n i love ths song. peace out.

  • @HotBroodish I am an infant and I apologize ahead of time for the music my generation will create haha i agree with you my man, everyone just appreciate what they like and respect everyone elses preferences

  • @HotBroodish yeah but we all agree that beiber sucks

  • @HotBroodish poor mr modern music.

  • @HotBroodish I'm hopin 2 add some reassurance, in saying I'm a heterosexual 18yr old MALE, that thinks Elton John is really good. and Whats new age got?...Rebecca Black? No thank you.

  • @HotBroodish you must like rebecca black

    kids these days

  • @poipractice nobody likes rebecca black.. it's things like Justin bieber and nicki minaj that kids these days like. I'm only 19 myself but I know good music when I see it and this is good.

  • @sean19922k7 Justin is actually the only modern artist that has meaningful music. go listen to it before you judge.

  • @sillykittyful "baby baby baby ohhhh"

I'm sorry but it's not meaningful. Even if it was meaningful, it's all fake synthesises and his voice has been edited with technology. This is true music, you don't get stuff like this these days.

  • @sillykittyful are you retarded? listen to cee lo green, or bruno mars, or hell even lady gaga. not saying these people produce super meaningful music, but they are all better than the biebs.

  • @sillykittyful what the fuck justin bieber sucks asshole!

  • @sillykittyful And what about Casey Abrams, or BNL, both 165434x better and more meaningful then Bieber. Your probably the type of person who likes hot rod more than napoleon dynamite because its more funny and flash, regardless of the quality, message, and depth of the latter.

  • no autotune here, just the way we like it, pure talent :)

  • *LISTENING TO IPOD IN CLASS*

    Schoolmate: what you listening to?

    Me: elton john

Schoolmate: O.o <-- (their face) ... are you gay?

Me: are you serious or just stupid?

  • @caulinrocker1 stupid for sure, i can recognize that kind of answers/questions.

  • @ajurialasco i was replying to him with sarcasm ... i already knew he was ignorant ... but i think it made my point

  • Double rainbow suit

  • At around 0:20, that eye-brow lift about made me jizz all up on this keyboard. Good music, good man, good grief I have sexuality problems.

  • not to many singer song writers that can touch this IMHO.

  • classic

  • This is incredible!

  • What the hell goes wrong with today's music? THAT is what i want! Yeah!

  • I'm Cthulu, and would just like to apologize for enslaving the human race, and the lack of GOOD human resources.

    So sorry Elton.

  • Just saw him tonight in Honolulu...so freaking awesome. This guy is a master on the piano and his voice is still great. What a great time that was!

  • A living legend....one of my favorite singers and songs

  • I remember the first time I heard this song was in a movie called .... "Aloha Bobby and Rose". I grew up around muscle cars back in the 70s and that movie had a street scramin 69 Camaro in it and from the moment I saw that movie I could'nt wait to hear "Tiny Dancer" again.

  • @rebeljack1860 Phenomenal song, still holds up to this day. Aloha Bobby and Rose on the other hand...

I know I saw it at a drive-in. Honestly can't remember anything about it, but that Rose had long hair.

  • i love how even the microphone is prettyer in that time

  • AMAZING!!!! gives me chills.

  • HOLD ME CLOSER TONY DANZZAAAAA!!!

  • @zrr91 Did you get this from "Friends" ? :D

  • @zrr91 Phoebe!!!

  • @zrr91 hahaha

  • He's certainly one of the best musicians we've had.

  • Yes thank u mrwhiteford1966

  • If only i could time travel :(

  • Best song of his

  • I had, like many, thought this was written about Bernie Taupin's girlfriend, but it was not. If you go to his website, he explains the song's lyrics

  • 13 years old . . . apologizes for today's music. Classy! Well said goldstar3!

  • @mrwhitford1966 I agree!!! :-)

  • @mrwhitford1966 thats nice man. =)) im sure your generation can do much better than what it is today..... ;)

  • Im 13 and would just like to apologize for the terrible music today and the lack of GOOD music appreciation.

    So sorry Elton.

  • @MrsGoldstar3 There's plenty of great music today. Look harder young padawan.

  • @MrsGoldstar3 shut up

  • @MrsGoldstar3 Nobody cares about your age and much less your hypocritical statement

  • @MrsGoldstar3 you are forgiven

  • I apologize that you think your an adult because your over possessive parents made you grow up with music that they tripped acid on. Music is music and people have preferences and you have no right to go judging people and say they like the wrong things. I listen to a variety of music including classical, dub step, rap, rock, classic rock, blues, indie, jazz and reggae and i find all of them enjoyable. I recommend try now things instead of making unoriginal copied comments on videos

  • @nassermaz1 Who are you talking to?

  • @MrsGoldstar3 I think you should apologize for the lack of acceptance of all music, not the lack of good music. Every genre should be appreciated and respected in it's own way. Music is what you make of it if it makes you happy than you like it whether it sounds good or story telling. Perhaps even a situation relating to you, I listen to Elton and Lamb of God in the same day I don't turn away any genre, cept country...

  • Hypocrite! "Every genre should be appreciated and respected in it's own way . . . " Cept country. Why doesn't country fall into your philosophy? Truth is there is very little music today that can compare to the great singer/songwriters of the late 1960's to late 70's. The quality of musicianship and lyrics are unsurpassed by today's so called musicians. Modern music is a joke and anyone with an ear knows it . . .

  • @MrsGoldstar3 Comments like this piss me off. Music from previous eras was beautiful and wonderful yes, but if you think music today sucks, you need to stop paying attention to the garbage mainstream hip hop and pop. I discover new artists every day that are amazing.

  • @MrsGoldstar3 good is subjective brah

  • @MrsGoldstar3 I hope you're the epitome of my future children =D

  • i love his voice, close my eyes and i can travel to 70

  • i was born in the wrong generation

  • This is one of my favorites songs of Elton... I have seen him many times in concert and although he is not that young man in this video anymore he still can deliver.. This song was written by Bernie about his GF who worked for the band.. Elton wanted to make it extra special and he did just that.. Love Elton!!!

  • lol it looks like hes wearing a wig

  • hats off gentlemen, a genius

  • 11 people on crack hit the dislike button by mistake.

  • lol, the shine of his glasses at 0:50 is godlike :)

  • Favorite Elton John song EVER

  • @XxStandByMeBeatlesxX totally agree, the man is a legend

  • A man, and his Piano.. can't get any better than that!! :)

  • @jluck202 Maybe a man and his Guitar.

  • A Classic of Classics..... I've known and loved every single word since 1976!

  • he was straight back then.

  • @thatbastardson Who cares about his sexual preference. He makes amazing Music, that'a all that matters.

  • @thatbastardson Yeah.. He wasn't straight. He was Gay, but just not open about it.

  • Great song, but who is Tony Danza?

  • @Threxx1 An amazing actor famous for "Who's the boss" and "Taxi"

  • talent

  • Im gay for elton john

  • kinda looks like neil packtrick harris

  • best song ever

  • Why are all the comments about gays? Who cares. If sexual orientation is what decides your music tastes, then you are truly pathetic.

  • do you like 1970s elton john? or 1980s elton john?

did you like early 1964 to 1966 beatles? or 1967 to 1969 beatles?

loyal mccartney fan? or like me, do you hate 1980s mccartney stuff?

rolling stones: do you wish they wrote more stuff after 1980?

the who: is pete townsend a pedophile? should daltrey get the lawyers to kick the pedpphile out of the who, and they do a few final who tours with a new guy?

does gene simmons have any talent on the bass? or has he been faking it?

  • Only Rick Perry hates gay people.i have more than a few gay friends and they are cool as heck, just don't like then being annoyingly loud and so gay that other gays think they are gay!

  • People! What is wrong of being gay? There are no straight or gay or bisexual, there is only LOVE!

  • Amazing song writer. Beautiful song.

  • omg this sounds just like the album!!

  • Who's Tony Danza? Lol..jw..

  • @Bren225Bren he is the freaking boss!!!

  • Such a wonderful voice, why did he turn gay? :/

  • @MrD2thaavid i didn't realize being gay ruined his voice...

  • @MrD2thaavid What do you care? Thats his personal business and he shouldn't be viewed as any lesser of an artist!

  • Sorry replay button :/

  • i love this song... <3

  • geat song and funn to play

  • @meetjeric good post

  • I love this song

  • I still don't understand how folks from across the pond sing without an accent, lol. He is amazing.

  • @recruiting Well in Bennie and the Jets he sings, "we'll kill the fatted calf" and it it sounds like "cough"...

  • @recruiting dido

  • @recruiting People that studder can sing without that impediment too.

  • @TheBerkeleyBeauty I did not know that..

  • everytime i hear someone sing about the one they love, i get a weird feeling..

kinda like the first time i fell in love...

elton, you make this feeling come alive for me again.
