I believe that Hussein hated Israel just as much as Nasser and Assad, but just didn't act on his hate because he had more to lose than to gain (which is what Egypt and Syria didn't realize), in addition to having to deal with turmoil within Jordan. Thus war was not practical or desirable.

@beggin1967 In regards to the West Bank; In the late 50s and early 60s, the PLO and other Palestinian faction were causing trouble in Jordan for Hussein himself. He thus restricted them to the WB in suppression. When Israel took WB from Jordan, Hussein at first wanted it back (I believe just for territory). When Israel refused to return it, Hussein soon realized that by losing WB, he was getting rid of countless, troublesome Palestinians. This was a good thing for him, but a bad one for Israel.

@beggin1967 I do not have solid, definitive info to answer your question since I don't know the answer to your question myself. I can offer what I suspect may be true, but you must take it with a hint of salt.
I believe that Hussein hated Israel just as much as Nasser and Assad, but just didn't act on his hate because he had more to lose than to gain (which is what Egypt and Syria didn't realize), in addition to having to deal with turmoil within Jordan. Thus war was not practical or desirable.

@beggin1967 In regards to the West Bank; In the late 50s and early 60s, the PLO and other Palestinian faction were causing trouble in Jordan for Hussein himself. He thus restricted them to the WB in suppression. When Israel took WB from Jordan, Hussein at first wanted it back (I believe just for territory). When Israel refused to return it, Hussein soon realized that by losing WB, he was getting rid of countless, troublesome Palestinians. This was a good thing for him, but a bad one for Israel.

You are forgetting the 1947 Partition Plan, the Palestine Civil War of 1947- 1948, Colonel Nasser's public speeches about a war of destruction for Israel and military intelligence on this, etc. Also, Israel never 'ethnically cleansed' anyone. If it did, this would have been known. It's impossible to hide from the world the murder of 8,000 (as we learned from Mladic), let alone 300,000.

1. The Israeli Independence War started on May 15. The Mandate expired May 14th. No Mandate when the war began. 1956 was a play and wasn't much of Israel's war in any case. 1967 was one of the greatest military achievements the world had ever seen. Though I think it was a mistake on Israel's part to take Gaza, the whole West Bank, and Maybe even the Sinai. Look at what a problem Gaza and the West Bank are for Israel today. 1968? Please clarify. No Arab nation was a mandate of any imperial power in 1948. That's s simply factual inaccuracy. To continue-- The Yom Kippur War of 1973 started off badly for Israel, true. But within less than a week Israel was quickly mopping up Arab forces, and by the end gained land west of the Suez Canal, and thrust itself deep into Syria. To be continued again

It was another military victory for Israel, though it came at a high cost of IDF lives and the end of Golda Meir's coalition. The Second Lebanese War of 2006 saw Beirut reduced to rubble while Hizbullah guerillas hardly scratched both the IDF and Israeli soil. To be continued (again)

It was a conventional war by Israel and a guerilla war by Lebanon- just like the Iraq War was and the Afghanistan War still is. Nevertheless, Lebanon sustained heavy damage from the IDF, and a thousand guerillas were killed, in addition to a few dozen legit Lebanese troops.
If Israel lost all these wars, how did Arab victories manifest themselves? How were the Arabs victorious? What did they win?

Not only did Israel completely defeat the Arab armies to nothingness, Israel also acquired more land in the Golan, now within reach of Damascus; Israel swallowed up the Suez Canal from Egypt and land west of it, now within reach of Cairo. The ARABS failed to reach THEIR objective and lost the war. Israel won the war AGAIN.
