Of course it's better in the video. It's seperated, he sings first, and then he dances to it. Recording + Dance Video = Music Video. In Live EVERYONE does worse than what they normally do, but unlike Taeyang, some people Lip Sync instead of singing while dancing. It can be pretty difficult. You're Using a lot of breath moving around and dancing, while using breath to sing.
