Apparently when Lynne and colleagues were developing the track, it was actually going to be not about Rock'n'Roll, but working at the Austin car factory at Longbridge! (I suspect if that theme went ahead, we'd likely simply be looking at footage of Austin Maestros on the production line and industrial strike action as a vid lol) - when I think about it the clanks at certain points of the song make sense to its original theme...
