No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.
If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on youtube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.
I'm with DCnishy...I miss the tour and I miss U2. I'm so thankful I was at the Pittsburgh show and got to see this and that it was recorded. I have to admit, every time I see this video, I wish i could meet the person with the sign and smack the crap out of her/him. Inconsiderate ass. I also got to hear Bad the only other time it was played on U.S. soil during the 360 tour - Chicago 1, 2009.
what "sign guy" does not realize is that the band in all likelyhood can't even see his sign.. Kinda like the guy at a U2 show I was at screaming, "I LOVE YOU BONO!" until he lost his voice. By the way we were about 50 yards away from the stage.. LOL...
Every time I watch this I really appreciate your camera work Tim. Finding work equal to yours from shows you were not at is a challenge. So, once again, thanks. Its special to have this song - and all the video from this summer.
don't be hard on yourself about the sign guy, it's not your fault they let idiots with signs buy tix. ticketmaster's 'convenience charge' equals INconvenience for others!!Anyway , another great vid as always . man you must spend alot on u2 concerts. thanks !
hee hee....Chicago 1 2009 got Bad, Chicago 2 2009 got Your Blue Room and Chicago 2011 got One Tree Hill....best place to see U2 I think....but St Louis in the heat, East lansing in the cool breeze with my 80 year old mom **a fan**, and of course Minneapolis in the pouring rain with the boys ....can't beat any of them...
@barn524 Pittsburgh was by far the best concert I've ever been to. They love U2 there. I remember a local telling me how the city went nuts when they were there for the Elevation tour... I want to see them in Chicago though now...
@YwkyWy37 I saw them in Seattle 2011, stayed extra long before I moved just to see them. I had to drive 40 hours in 48 hours before I started my new job. And it was worth every bit of it. Then, I flew to Pitt the following month to see them live for the last North American concert of 2011. It was amazing, and to end with this song, my favorite, first time hearing it live, dropped me to my knees in tears. Just beautiful.
this was an awesome point of the show ..I just given up on hearing this song...then they played it & it was intense....TY Bono,TY thomas for sharing this with me....
What an incredible night for me. Will always remember the energy felt at Heinz field when this was played. Hate to use the phrase "had to be there to understand " but in this case it truly does fit. Wow just wow
Oh, this brought tears to my eyes. Saw them in Philly and have seen them in Philly every tour since Unforgettable Fire. How lucky you were to get "Bad" and a few verses of "40." beautiful end to the tour.
I came from Italy just for this show! It was one of the most exciting nights of my life. I love these guys, make me dream, makes me hope, make me crazy. I'll follow them for life
My all time fave u2 song...so amazing, we were actually leaving when this song came on, I stopped dead in my tracks and walked back in a trance to watch this, my hubby who likes and respects u2 thru me, but isnt a diehard fan , says we have to go now or we will get caught up in all the people and miss our boat. i turn and look at him and say "Bono is singing Bad if you make me leave i will throw a tantrum like a 2 year old and you will have to carry me out." And yes i won , got to see it all.
I was at this show on the outer rail on Adam's side. I was also at the 9/12/09 show in Chicago so I got to hear Bad the other time it was played in the U.S. during the 360 tour. I really wanted to hear Out of Control but this just fine with me.
@ryan06105: Bono grew up on Cedarwood Road. He makes reference to it in "Sometimes You Can't Make It", the version w/ the added verse (non-radio)... Also mentioned heavily, of course, in the biography "U2 on U2"
@ryan06105 Andy Rowen, brother to Peter Rowen, boy on the album cover of Boy, and Guggi, Bono's lifelong friend from Cedarwood Rd where he grew up in Dublin. Bono said this night that they wrote it for Andy. Prior, it was only said that it was written about a friend who overdosed on heroin. It was quite a night of revelation and illumination as say the lyrics Bono sang.
Love these guys, just LOVE them!! They give all their heart and soul to us when they perform...
Bad, is my all time favorite U2 song, I have seen three shows of this 360 tour, but they did not play this at any of them :-( Such an amazing song! Wish I was at this show! Oh well, there is always next tour. I guess when you have such an extensive collection of awesome songs, there is no way to play them all :-)
ATTENTION ALL U2 FANS!(Sorry for the caps lock),On August 12th, we will be watching the music video With or Without you repeatedly all day to boost it's view count up to at the least of 100,000,000 views. You don't even have to listen to it. You can just keep playing the video back to back all the way through without sound. We're doing this to compete with Justin Beibers garbage music videos & to make U2 be heard across Youtube. Copy& Paste this across all U2 videos. Spread the word
when i saw them play this at live aid in '85, i was hooked........ i was so lucky to be there to hear it - my favorite song ever, my 1st time seeing them... thanks for posting , i was too far away for my videos to come out.
I saw them for the first time in Hawaii 2006, last show. I figured, the last show is probably THE one to go to. Saw them in Seattle too this year. Glad I went with my gut and flew to Pitt. BAD is my favorite song. I can die now peacefully having heard this in person. I never understood how people get all emotional and cry over artists and music. Then I saw them in concert. And I understood. Cried that night too. And the way they transformed their own music that night was truly epic!!
Excellent video! You were probably right near me. I was on the back rail, right in front of the Edge. Having heard "Bad" was on the East Rutherford setlist, my brothers and I were really hoping they would play it on this special night in Pittsburgh. Absolutely amazing. I hadn't seen it performed live since The Joshua Tree tour in Pittsburgh. What a fantastic way to end a brilliant show.
Thanks for this video. I was there Tuesday night, but the view was not nearly as good! Hope you have more like this. Great way to remember that night!
Amazing way to end the tour. We saw them in Chicago July 5, and prayed they would play "Bad". You were blessed with one of the truly amazing U2 classics. Great video, thanks for sharing !
Thanks for posting this. My firend from Toronto wanted to make the show but she's nine months pregnant and I wanted to be able to share part of the show.
Really great video - thanks for posting. Sign dude (or dudette as suggested below) clearly didn't know he/she was in the way, but it's never "bad" to put a sign down during the music....
@fredbates100 The issue is...I'll bet that sign was held up the entire show. If the band hadn't seen it by then, there wasn't much point in holding it up during Bad.
8 shows this summer but this was the most special 10 minutes of the entire journey for me - last song, last show. Thanks for all your video Tim, but especially for this one!
The "fucktard" "guy" with the sign might have been me. And, I'm a female. I am really sorry if this was the case. I had noticed that when folks with signs in front of me held them up, I could still see between the top of their head and the bottom of their signs, so just assumed this was the case behind me. You could have just said something rather than call me a "fucktard." Again, I apologize. Some U2 fans can be so nasty. Are you the guy who kept bashing me in the spine w/ his lens?
