There are two versions of this song.

One is mellow paced and more orchestral.

This version is faster and really just plain better in my opinion.

it's a mix of sonic and shadow with mario's world. mecha sonic destroyed sonic's world looking for the chaos emeralds. shadow used chaos control to warp the emeralds to another world(mario's) so sonic and shadow visit the mushroom kingdom to race against mecha sonic in getting the emeralds with mario's gang's help
