colorful- my favorite song, because they did that song while my brother AJ was in the band...he was a big part of the verve pipe....love to all, Jonie..
I had the great fortune to see them live last Wednesday! Was bummed that A.J. was not with them. They were still great of course, but not quite whole. I saw them with AJ a few times. Wasn't he with them on the Tonic & K's Choice tour....my favorite VP show. I have some video of last week's show if U R interested.
The videos are on my Video Page usually on the right hand side of the page.. If the Link doesnt work just click on my name (@DocRockk) and search around on my page. (change the "DOT" to a ".")
Having seen BVA in person... he is an amazing presence and not to be missed live. He is touring again with Verve Pipe this summer, you have to catch him! When I saw him in Richmond, he actually asked me what I'd like him to play. Can you get a better musician than that?!!
Me and my band first covered this song 4 years ago, it was the first song we ever payed together. Every now and then we get nostalgic and play it for fun... equally fun every time!
It was done for the movie Rock Star, the the singer Brian actually appears in. As for the band, Brian Vander Ark (guitar/vocals), Donny Brown (drums), Doug Corella (keyboard/percussion), Dan Matheny (guitar), John Connors (bass). On occasion Joel Ferguson will play bass also. Missing from this version are guitarist AJ Dunning and Brad Vander Ark who left after the 4th album. Brian is the lead singer, but Donny Brown helped write/wrote a lot of the songs too.
I saw these guys several years ago in Birmingham AL, and they were 10 times better than this. Dont know if there are new members now or what, but there is no comparison. I thought these guys rocked, but I was wrong.
Actually these are some new members. They were SO much better back in the days when they had AJ Dunning on guitar. No disrespect meant to the current lineup, but AJ made them even better then they are now.
just wanted to let you know that yes his name is brain vander ark and that is him singing this song at the end of rock star. thats not marky mark singing.
Yea, i'm pretty sure the lead singer's name is Brian Vander Ark. It was in the movie ROCKSTAR which he played in. He didn't sing it in the movie though, Mark Wahlberg did. If you ever watch the movie it's the last song in the movie. This video is awesome, i like his version better then Marky Marks.
I know that Donny (the drummer) was from when they were bigger because he's my friend's uncle. I went to that concert, they did a really good job. Expecially since it was free.
wow......are these the "yoko" years???? dude, what happened?

Wow... The acoustic guitar sounds wierd...
Like steel string and stuff!
bikefreak46 3 years ago
thats probably cuz acoustic guitars use steel strings... unless its like flamenco or somethin but that would be dumb for this song...
nivekskliw 2 years ago
Actually My band does this song and I actually use a nylon string guitar. It allows me to create a warmer sound in the beginning.

Oh...they hit it big? Do they know that?

Funny... big enough I think you know what I mean
peachey1 4 years ago
If by having a #1 single means going big then yea, I think they know they hit it big
bozz723 3 years ago
Also, if by having a platinum album means "hitting it big", I would assume they know they hit it big.
