Great video. Actually, all your videos have helped. Just bought an 898c SI. Plan to install in a week, run down to Florida and start fishing with this amazing piece of technology.

In northern Illinois we have had a mild winter but the lakes are still frozen. Otherwise I would be heading to a nearby lake this weekend.

I joined the Yahoo Groups and am working in interpreting the sonar returns.

Excellent explaination of the side imaging. It now makes sense to me. I was going to buy a fish finder without the si because I didn't understand it, but now I want one. It really shows everything, once you understand what you are looking at. I think the barge portion of the video really made "the light turn on" and helped me understand it the best. Folding the pictures was key though in my opinion.

Cool vid. A barge in 6 ft of water seems odd. Kinda hard to interpret some of that stuff but a little practice might make things easier. Do you think you could pick out a big pike or muskie with that sonor?
