  • I LOVE MOTOWN!

  • This song exhibits A LOT of arrangement techniques you won't find in any other song during its heyday. One of the Motown songs with a REALLY KICK-ASS ARRANGEMENT.

  • LOVE CHILD.....wasn't just a record for DIANA and BERRY!

  • Download the audio from this tune at thetunify doht cohm.

  • mean ass guitar

  • When Diana Ross and The Supremes debuted this tune on the Ed Sullivan Show on September 29, 1968, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong (who didn't appear ANYWHERE on this recording) had to obtain a copy and listen to it repeatedly to figure out where the 'ooohs' and "ahhhs" came in - it was released the next day, on September 30, 1968-

  • @christheone8773 : Correct. But Mary herself has said that Barry Gordy repeatedly tried to get her to come back to the studio to record this song. She declined saying she was tired and needed a vacation. Barry continued to try and get her back, telling her the song was important. So the Andantes were brought in while Mary sunned herself in Mexico.

  • @barnj30 YES, that is very true, according to Mary's first autobiography, "Dreamgirl" - she stated that, around the time this tune was written, she was feeling burned out and stressed over what was happening in the group - Florence Ballard's departure, and Berry Gordy elevating Diana Ross' position in the group - it was also rumored that Berry sent Duke Fakir of the Four Tops along with Mary in Mexico, so that he could keep an eye on her!

  • Haha really? All This Love For Diana...Tisk Tisk She only got the lead because she was sleeping with gordy! Don't get me wrong, I am HUGE Motown Fan. But Mary Wilson And Florence Ballard Sang Waaaay Better Than Diana. As far as I'm Concerned, Diana Is A Fraud!

  • It just needs lyrics >:o

  • I LOVE THE INSTRUMENTATION OF THIS!!!!

  • My Gawd! If this is not the best song the Supremes ever sang well I don't know what is ! :) always loved it, always will. Thanks for posting this instrumental which gives me a new love and appreciation for the brilliant orchestration of this masterpiece!!
