i have an acer aspire 5349-2592 what are the odds of it working too.

i messed with hackintosh before a looong time agao, took me like 500 tries just to get teh os up and thats with out hardly any hardware support. but that waqs on different computer.

Can you give me a more direct link to get started, not a general one where i could go in several directions. and durring install what options did u uncheck & Check? thanks in advance!

how did you install the core 2 duo in this laptop? i have a acer aspire 5315 too and i want to play good games and it have intel celeron..1 gb ram..and a bad grafic chip integrated..another question is..can i install another grafic chip to the acer aspire 5315? please anwer me..and thaks a lot..

@aulis21 you just buy an Intel Core 2 Duo, mobile, socket P. As far as a new graphics chip, its integrated and on the motherboard, so there's no upgrading it.

@hypnotix2000 are you installing it on an Acer Aspire 5315? if so I really have no idea why it wont show up, mine shows up and I'm now running a legit version of Snow Leopard with iBoot as my bootloader.

@xxskatekidxx ok so everything (got a broadcom wifi card) works... except for the webcam. even installed the IOUSB kext but no good. At least I have network and I have never been comfortable with the idea of a functioning webcam anyhow lol thanks for the help all along buddy!

@xxskatekidxx did you have to install any special kexts along with iBoot or was it a straight install from SL? Did you have to run time machine at all? I just bought a copy of SL 10.6 from the local apple store.

@hypnotix2000 I had to install basically everything I did on Leopard, I just used the iatkosv7 disc to install kexts and just unclicked the Leopard System file Pack (lol, i cant think of the name right now).

how did you get wifi (=internet) working?

@RVanhauwere I had to replace the wifi card with a Dell DW1390, they're like $19 shipped off ebay.

got 10.5.6 to work but NO SOUND!!! did you do anything fancy to get sound detected?

@hypnotix2000 if your using iatkosV7, at install under the "customize" section I installed the "Voodoo HDA driver" and that kicked sound in for me. hope it helps you!

@xxskatekidxx No I used Kalyway 10.5.6 - where do I get iatkosV7??? is there a straight download anywhere or will it be the same runaround with torrents?

@xxskatekidxx I will try getting iaktosv7 - BTW Windows and Linux crash with more than 2GB of RAM - hackintosh does not!!!! I tested it with 4GB!

OK so I am running into an issue with the install on my 5315 - the Kalyway 10.5.2 doesn't want to see any partitions on my drive to select/install

@Amslushie you must install the "Apple PS/2 driver" or the "Voodoo PS/2 driver"

@Amslushie its not a download, its just on the customize section of iatkosv7, just click it upon install. this is just a demonstration video, not a tutorial, if you need extra help check out a tutorial video.

did u have a problem with the fan? mine would switch off the second osx or win7 was starting to install causing it to overheat and shut down halfway through the installation. apparently acer empowering technology is the program that controlls the fan but how have you done it because it seems to be a fairly common problem. if anyone else knows how to fix this please let me know.

@liam0006 I never had a problem with my fan personally but I have heard that it can be a problem also. I believe you have to adjust the bios settings it get it to keep running but i am not sure exactly what to change. I am sorry I couldn't help you more.

@marcossabara I used a different wifi card all together, there is no kext needed if u just replace the original card with a dell dw 1390, 1395, or 1490. these are cards i have and that work after a clean install of iatkos v7, just google the name and im sure u can find one cheap since i found all of mine for under $20.

Ive tryed. To install kalyway today. But it shows only THE system reservated partition and THE harddrive wdc wd3200bevt. Yes i have the same laptop. But i know that iatkos works. Well im installing kalyway now in vmware that Will work completly

@ruamlex im sorrry but no, this is a pirated version of mac osx until i can figure out how to do the drivers with the retail copy and and efi bootloader. just google it or check out the bay where the pirates hang out, ur bound to find it.

If you could remember what you checked when you were installing this it would be awesome. I've got the same laptop, and the same install disk. I installed it, and when the OSX welcome video started it was cropped (only took up the upper left 3/4 of the screen) and my keyboard, mouse and speakers didn't work. If you could help I would appreciate it.

Couple of questions....Do you have the model # of the Dell wifi you ordered? Also, did you try running Snow Leopard on it or just Leopard? I think iatkos only goes up to regular Leopard.

@UScr00ge i ordered a dell dw 1395, and i used iatkos v7 for leopard and i tried a legit copy of snow and it was alright but the drivers wouldnt install correct for me.

@xxskatekidxx You've gotta insert the Dev/Ven ID into the info.plist folder. System>Library>Extensions>IO80­2Family.kext>Plugins>BCM43xx.K­ext>Info.plist

Its will have a list which is like replace one of the dev which will have the last 4 digits as 4313 and put 4315.

i have a bit of a problem...when i try to install a hackintosh it installs fine but when it asks u to restart i click restart and it boots up and u have to select language and stuff and when im done and i shut down my laptop and turn it back on it either boots from disk or goes to network boot

@saberj2x i believe it must be in IDE mode in the BIOS to get it to boot correctly, thats what mine is in and i had to do that to make it boot XP.

i used iatkos 7, my ethernet is the only thing not working also. i havent noticed it at all cause i dont use it ever but u said something so i had to check and i get no response from it. lol. oh well, wireless works great and has for the past 2 months. haha.

i used iatkos 7, it was a torrent download and then burned to dvd. i want to go legit and use my actual discs then just use iatkos for drivers but i dont wanna reinstall after its working so well.
