I have one of these and done 6,000 miles on it so far this yr, and have to say, it's shit! Period!

First the sound is like a tractor in a blender, it ain't nice so those exhausts have to go but even after market ones don't sound that great!

Second, trust me, after 1/2 hr on this thing you want to throw it off a cliff, talk about uncomfortable.

Third, if your using it for road use be prepared to change the tyres every 1,500 miles! yep, 6,000 and n ow on my 4th set.

Indeed, form should ALWAYS follow function. Pretty and slow is still slow. Besides, most of the things we consider "hot", came from purpose-built racing. Your import/domestic sports car? With the lowered stance, wide rubber, big rims, blacked out hood, stripes, spoilers, etc.? Look at Trans Am racing from the 60's, or JGTC, or DTM. Most muscle cars exist because of Trans Am. Lancer Evo? STi? Cosworth Focus? ONLY because of WRC. Fast is ALWAYS hot.

OK, to each his own. I too thought this KTM looked ugly in pics but after seeing it in person and riding it, I bought one! The BMW looks ordinary; the KTM is a head turner (at least here in SF) and I get nothing but raves on it's radical looks and design. But looks aside, it's the ride that counts and I've ridden both. The KTM kicks ass!
