No, there wasn't much shooting back was there. The Fortress was bristling with defensive armament - was it 13 x 0.5 machine guns including a ventral turret.
And they didn't seem to do very well against the Mustangs.
It was scary for the Luftwaffe pilots too. Imagine flying several hundreds of miles per hour towards an aircraft that's doing almost the same speed, trying to hit the damn thing and breaking off at the last second. Many green pilots (about 90-95% of the 1944-1945 Luftwaffe) just couldn't do it properly. On the other hand it was the most efficient way to down a 4-engine bomber.

in the 2nd video, it looks like the tail gunner didn't shoot at all!! even as the fighter gets closer and closer. what happend to the gunner?

He may have already been put out of action. Tail gunners had a high casualty rate.
