  • This song is just too slow for my liking, this sounds like a Mack Wilberg arrangment, which is really too bad this soung is supposed to sound much more majestic and swift moving than this, which is about the speed of honey....

  • Me and my mom sang this last sunday at Mt. Pisgah umc. This is our national hymn. I didn't know of this until I sang in a hymn concerte.

  • heel mooi gr uit holland

  • Heavenly!

  • The U.S. Army hymn

  • I am not a man of faith... not the Christian-based one anyways. But this choir moves mountains inside my heart. And, this is one of my favorite hymns.

  • Those of you preaching God: please don't. if you find solace in whatever makes you feel good, try to contain that feeling within yourself. Your God needs no medium to spread his "grace" or "love". if you truly feel that God answers your prayers, good for you...

  • @Bruinboi16 Please take your own advice.

  • @Bruinboi16 You come to a posting that is godly and faith-based, that perhaps reminds people of great people and great things that have affected their lives, and then you ask people who are so moved not to proclaim the Grace of God that they feel in their hearts? And you want people who feel that God has asked them to be the medium to spread the message of his grace and love to quit? I don't think these are the folks who are unreasonable and out-of-line. Are you the one with no peace?

  • @Azishome what has he done for you lately?

  • @Azishome In the past two months, God has successfully delivered my wife from brain surgery including a ruptured aneurysm that occurred as the surgery was being conducted. She is well, and she is fine. This past Christmas, God provided the blessing of our celebration of Christmas with our entire family that includes our great grandchildren. And yes, God provided those. I sense there a deadness and anger in your soul that you have no business taking out on others. By the way, I am not LDS.

  • I love that big beautiful TEXAS flag!

  • @edarotag84 that would be the US flag, this is the army hymn

  • the trick is to click to tubifier [dot] com to get the 256k version of this mp3.

  • moves me to tears. No better chior to sing it than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!

  • Amen !!!! God will NEVER LEAVE HIS PEOPLE.. Even Though we have turned our backs on Him; He is still LOVING and Waiting for us to COME BACK TO HIM !!! Everyone will be held Accountable to HIM once this present life comes to an END !!! JESUS IS THE LORD AND THERE IS NO OTHER !!!!! PRAISE GOD !!!!!!!!

  • @JMOSABRES see you in hell!

  • God bless America! Save the National Day of Prayer, and sing this Hymn, the National Hymn. Beautiful, inspiring, thanks for sharing this!

  • @boomchuckaboom Naturally the Kenya Kid trampled the "National Day of Prayer". I would too if I were a Muslim like him. He has just been running all over the part of the world where there a lot of them. He has been out bowing and scrapeing to every one he could find.

  • @Angryrnmedic I see you are falling for the Faux News propaganda.

  • now that's a manly hymn

  • Why not just listen to the beauty of the song. The petty comments are demeaning and unneeded.

  • I love the MOTAB!

They always make me so happy!

When i hear it all blended together, it reminds me of our church, being unified and loving.

    THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • Hey thanks for the wonderful hymn! Very patriotic and soul lifting.

  • When I listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir I get the grand feeling that each member has the certainty that what they are singing is real and they make it real to us. Their performance is refreshing and inspirational--always.

  • Although i beg to differ being LDS myself and not wanting to put myself in the trap of being bias they are talented with the sounds of angels, i do also think the best choirs come from Wales

  • DerAnstifter: 'Nationalistic"? Have you ever heard of the choir at Washington National Cathedral in D.C.? I think the Mormons are better marketers than Episcopalians, who have some of the best choirs in the U.S. But by far the best choir choirs come from England.

  • so you're pissed that your choir's arent getting any attention? is that why you're here to write your garbage? maybe its b/c your choir isnt that great? if that wasnt the case maybe we would be hearing from them?

  • Wow! 'Tis the season to be charitable, eh? I wasn't taking away anything from the wonderful talent of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Just a broader view about choirs in general. Gezzzzzzzz!

  • Hey Thanks, for being polite and replying in a calm manner. To others comments, it is gratifying that there are some still out there that do not have anger problems. :)

  • Candyforchris: Ever heard of King's College Choir, Cambridge?...

  • This is the most reverent version of the United States' National Hymn--yes we do have one--I have ever heard. Thank you for posting.

  • God this is beautiful

  • Has anyone found the 1973 version of this from the Mormons. It was on the Readers Digest "collection" of greatest hits. It was by far the most awesome version ever made. The descant the women sang is enough to melt hearts.

  • This arrangement makes me think of an army of angels.

  • Best thing Motab ever sang! I love this song. No doubt this arrangement is by Mack Wilberg.

  • There is no more beautiful voices then this choir. its just so awesome.

  • Nothing more beautiful, then beautiful vocies singing to GOD. And yes my friends, as much as this country has spit in his face latley and abandon him. GOD is still here

  • Only some have abandoned him. There are many that are holding on to his precepts and fighting for them. We see it in politics all the time.

  • May the Lord -Jesus coming back soon

May God be with us forever , Amen !!!

  • God is our father and for me he is a pillar of strength which has supported me time and again. What an awesome reminder of that, this hymn is.

  • wat can i say abt the standard and quality of this song?? SOLID and GRAND man!!!

    PRAISE THE LORD!!! ALLELULIA

  • One of the most beautiful songs sung by an Americaan treasure!

  • This is for mk162...if you are a man or woman, I do not know. But I do know you are a good person. Maybe whoever planned the services thought July 4th was all over...so no patriotic songs were needed. But we need to be Patriots all year around. I listen to patriotic music all year. I am sure you are a light among those you know and in your faith. Thanks for sharing...have a Great American week!!

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. This past Sunday (July 6), I played this for Sunday School assembly because we didn't sing any patriotic songs and this is not in the new Evangelical Lutheran Worship. I don't know why. Oh, well, just thought I'd share.

  • Cardigan Mountain School does a great version of this song. I remember it well!

  • thanks, thanks to the Mormons and their choir!!

  • Amen!

  • It's a shame that the Mormons seem to be the only group that can put together a decent traditional choir.

  • Vienna Boy's Choir

  • Why is it a shame? Mormons are some of the most honest and loyal people I've ever met.

  • Actually, it could be taken as a compliment... That's how I'd take it... It is a shame for other people not to be able to come up with a nationalistic choir.

  • ya since you ppl claim to be the only "christians", only those that conform to your narrow minded view of christianity. hey its ashame that you "real" christians" dont have a real choir, maybe its b/c we just convert everybody
