  • Viva Vivaldi!

  • This would sound stunning with death metal drums.

  • I had always listened to a faster version of this piece, but I think I prefer this one. It's slow enough to let me appreciate every note, but at the same time, it doesn't loose its rythm and beauty.

  • This slower version of the first movement of the concerto for four harpsichords is precisely the version I have been searching after for years and years and I am delighted to have it! There is a French film from the sixties that uses both the Vivaldi concerto for four violins and the Bach concerto for four harpsichords as background music. It is a schoolchildren's film and there is a memorable snowball battle with the Bach as the background music. Anyone recall the name of the film?

  • Now this is music.

  • One person has no soul...

  • @Antigone1892

Two people think that the tempo is too much slow. There are a lot of executions better than this one.

  • @amw62

Better? What do you mean by that?

  • @gr0mithtimon

In my opinion the tempo in this version is really too slow and I know other ones better than this.

  • @amw62

Sure, this sounds very slow if you are used to faster tempo's. That does not make it bad. The interpretation is very musical(As can be expected from the most eminent Bach expert and harpsichord player of our times) . Who do you prefer?

  • @gr0mithtimon

You are an expert and I'm only an amateur who likes listen to Bach and baroque music.

I like very much Gustav Leonhardt interpretations, but I prefer Trevor Pinnock version than this one.

  • acaaa cucha desde 3:40 hasta el finales absolutamente perfecto

  • My favorite track by Bach, fucking love this piece.

  • I wonder how many times will someone have to correct a viewer and point out that this is a concerto by Vivaldi and not Bach.... you should put it in the title or the video description ;-) (Nice, but too slow for taste, btw). I like the video though!

  • @bersa888 By what I understood, Bach adapted it from Vivaldi's concert for Violins...

  • @Guilherme7530 : Yes, of course. Even if we didn't know that, the style is overwhelmingly Vivaldian...

  • i wonder how long it took to compose this piece. wonderful

  • One of the best and finest interpretations.

  • Hi,

BWV1065 is adapted for 4 Harpsichords from Vivaldi's "LEstro Armonico, Op.3, Concerto No. 10 in B minor for four violins, cello and strings, RV 580"

    Greetings!!

  • Oh I see... Thanks for this intersting

    information

  • anyway tx 4 sharing this amazing work...

  • what's the point putting a vivaldi picture on a bach concerto?

  • @trashkwekwe that is Bach :)

  • @Demimin91

No, at 0:17 there's a picture of Vivaldi.. But now I know the reason why, tx to Bussinez

  • @Demimin91 yeah but at 0:17 there's a pic of Vivaldi

  • @trashkwekwe Because Bach transcribed the 4 violin concerto of Vivaldi to 4 harpsichords. L'Estro Armonico.

  • can they play any slower?

  • Thanks! I just uploaded a 1951 (!) Mozart Lp with Jany van Wering playing pianoforte. I did not know the recorded with Leonhardt...

    Greetings,

    Rolf
