  • From experience I can tell you that the scallop will die soon and as for the feather duster well it can also indicate that it no longer likes it location move him to a new one to avoid tube reconstruction

  • They often leave their tubes if they aren't happy with their location... They'll find a better spot and set up again, everything is fine.... If they ditch their crown something is wrong with water quality, or they are not being fed properly and are slowly dieing, they will rebuild their crown, drop it again etc. etc. and get smaller and smaller and after about a year die.... Well this is from current research, this info may change. So ignore this post if it is a few years old. :P

  • my feather duster threw out the feather thingie....

should i throw the feather thing away and just leave the tube alone? because i felt a living worm inside the tube...lol

  • They discard their crown when they are severely stressed.

  • did it end up living? or no. mine left today too..lost its crown aswell i couldnt tell what it was untill i noticed the tube being empty

  • Lol, some clownfish are weird. You provide them with excellent, expensive anemones, and they decide to host on the feather dusters :D
