I traveled to Odessa in March of 2005. I stayed near the "Duke Monument". Wonderful city, with very friendly people. Hopefully one day I will get the opportunity to return to Odessa. Hopefully it will be much warmer next time!!!

Second though it is true that there were Italian and French architects and desginers, Russians commisioned them and followed through with the work.
