  • Can you give some more advise on what pump you use and how you build it together- what parts did you buy for the top

? Really think this is the best option. Great video. Would like to do something like this next year.

  • Great system! Vertical gardening is really amazing because it saves a lot of space and all the plants are getting their needed light energy. I just want to ask if that system is suitable for growing cucumbers. Would you recommend cucumbers to be grown with other plants? Thanks :)

  • @koolgrower Thanks! In a vertical system I would probably rig up some sort of trellis for the vine cucumbers. They are 'heavy feeders' so if you plant anything in the system with them, make sure whatever you plant can handle high levels of nutrients :-)

  • sweet system!

how much does it cost to make one?

  • @brandonlawes It all depends on how tall you want to make it. Each stack up costs $15.50 and the taller you go, the better pump you'll need to pump the nutes up. With this system we stacked 6 high on top of a cheap large bucket-barrel we picked up from the hardware store, but the weight is starting to be a bit much for the cheap barrel :-( All in all it was about $100 in parts. Maybe if you don't stack as high it would work, but we're thinking of re vampin it soon with a better barrel
