  • nice idea to use the ebow!

  • @geraldillo thanks

  • Is your guitar pluged into an acoustic amp, or is it completly unpluged?

  • @esplover100 It doesn't even have a pickup! Completley acoustic.

  • @fngrpckr awesome!

  • brilliant! the best ebow demo ever!!!

  • @exitshow Thank you

  • Fantastic! You have talent my friend!

    Cheers from Brazil!

  • @guibr18 Many thank you's

  • Oh! Clever!!

  • @SOUNDsculptures Thank you, I hope it inspires you

  • Just brilliant, wonderful, fantastic, creative, however else I may put it. Sure the audio quality may not be that great, but I can sure hear it well and it's just a great cover. Makes me want to go out and buy an ebow even more now.

  • @pastyourhorizon Many thank you's. I really appreciate that

  • atta boy!

  • i am surprised to see the first and only ebow video on here that was worth watching. every one can demonstrate how to use one but no one has found a use for it like this guy

  • Will do. I havent checked out any of your other videos yet. I wil do that asap. Thanks!

  • Sweet. I bought a couple thumb picks today too, just seems like it should be easier that way. Thanks for the help and inspiration.

  • @BalzMahoney Thank you. I hope you enjoy working on this. I have a couple of lessons on here too. If theres anything I can do, let me know.

    Darryl

  • I think I just figured it out. Your bottom 2 strings were tuned to D and G right?

  • @BalzMahoney You got it! I use that tuning a lot. I just worked out Malted Milk by Robert Johnson in it. Thanks

  • Hey man, I know this is an OLD video, but it has fascinated me. I bought an ebow just so I could do this song, one of my favorites. Do you have any special tuning on it? I cant get the last note in the bass line. Any help would rock. Great job on this.

  • Gutsy! Great job! :)

  • That is very cool. Nice to see an ebow used on an acoustic.

  • Never knew that thing would work on a acoustic,

  • freaking cool

  • @WOLVOSTONER thank you

  • Thanks!!!

  • @fngrpckr beautiful

  • @30NIGHTCRAWLER30 Thank you very much

  • sincere and beautiful! Well done

    Matt

  • Thank you Matt! I appreciate it

  • woohoo I like the idea! never thought about it that way :D keep up the good work :D

  • Go try it! I saw Chris Proctor on Woodsongs do it first! Thanks

    Darryl

  • YOU ARE AWESOME. Are you in a band? Cause that singing can take you places you realize that?

  • Thank you very much! I don't realize it actually, but I'm starting to. Thank you

    Darryl Chafe

    Newfoundland

  • Awesome.

  • thank you

  • do you need a electric acoustic to do this

  • This is an acoustic guitar. No pickups or wires up my sleeve!

  • you don't have to use an electric but it does sound better on an eletric. Even then i use my bass and it works just fine.

  • you get such a good sound out of that with the ebow its got that perfect rawness to it

    is it a cf martin?

  • Thank you! It's a seagull

  • love the soft vibrato, sounds effin amazing. 5 stars and goin into my favorites.

@ MysteryBoxz, just watch him play it. You can see what he's playing. Unless the tuning isn't standard of course. ;)

  • Thanks man! It's in open G

  • great

  • Thank you

  • loved it! just beautiful.

  • Thanks!

  • Dude that's amazing, and the singing too!

  • Thanks very, very much!

  • do you have tabs?

  • No, Sorry.

  • that is really neat!!!

  • Thanks!

  • brilliant - love it. 5*

  • Thanks man!

  • This is really awesome!

  • Thanks!

  • bono once said that edge was like a one man orchistra. You are definitely a one man band!

  • Thank you very much!

  • Hey mate, you said this is unplugged? Really? Can I get an ebow to work without an amp? Hold on, I'll ask in a note :)

  • i love this.

  • Thanks

  • AMAZING

  • Thanks

  • Haahaha...

  • lol, wow, keeping the e bow sustaining while playing its part while playing the bass while singing too. Nice.

  • Thank you

  • great job

  • thanks

  • cool idea, i must get me a thumb pick for my ebow

  • Thanks, you can do other songs well this way too.

  • The E-Bow is very cool and the playing style sounds great but the vocals impressed me most.

  • Well I thank you very much!

  • Nice acoustic ebow! I'm the other guy that has an acoustic ebow vid. I'm making a new electric ebow vid with multi tracks. It will be a little daunting to edit that, so I'm taking my time.

    Cheers!

  • thats so cool man... I have never seen it played like that before. I knew they used an ebow but the picking with the ebow is a nice touch.

  • Your voice has an honest quality. Beautiful, but I'd love to hear a longer version of the same song by you.

  • Thank you. I just wanted to sing so the guitar part would sound better. I don't consider myself much of a singer but maybe I'll do a longer take someday. Thanks very much for the encouragement.

    Darryl

  • thank u

  • wow i want one of those things and u sound great

  • beautiful

  • good the bad sound sounds very good...

  • very nice! where would I buy an ebow?

  • I just saw them on the website for pinupmusicparts, a very good online music shop I've dealt with a couple time through eBay (prices directly from them are cheaper than eBay, though.)

They sell it for $109 and I'll think I'll get one after this and a couple other demos I saw (Check out the "amazing grace" medley thing.)

  • The Ebow work reminds me of the early "The Church" recordings. Well done.

  • Thanks

  • Pachbel.

  • haha. it is :D

  • NICE!!! Good work man!

  • Thank you

  • sort of reminds me of the effects of Thom Yorke's Eraser

  • thats actually exactly what i was thinking.

  • Variax 700 acoustic! Sweet!

  • Or not. Sorry ;).

  • nice!

  • Great bit of work, but you have got to redo this on some half decent audio gear though.

Your excellent effort is all wasted.

  • Not a nice way of saying it, but, if your gonna work rly hard on something, which i could tell you did by the quality of your performance, you might wanna look around, to see who might have gear you can borrow

  • Mr. producers, you can all grapple this one... I can tell what is effort, what is talent and what is music without your pretty sound.

  • Read what i said.... "great Work" "excellent" I am not telling him to book a studio with Phil Spector or Steve lillywhite... You numpty. Anyone can hear that the recording is well below par. I am more than aware that the playing is excellent and would benefit with the lack of hiss. Tit.

  • very creative!!!

  • Thanks

  • did you have a pickup on your guitar or is it straight acoustic i am thinking of getting an e-bow but i mostly play acoustic

  • thats real zen. i enjoyed it.

  • Thanks

  • wow-thats ridic

  • Thanks

  • loved it :)

  • Thanks

  • Quite nice guitar playing...

You're not a singer but we could say you're pretty much what would be a guitarist :P

  • Thank you!

  • That's way tougher than it looks! Good job, dude!

  • Thanks and it sure is! lol

  • awesome

  • Thanks

  • fucking sweet dude, keep it up!

  • Thanks

  • I love it

  • Thanks

  • That was very cool...this, people, is what YouTube is all about!

  • ebow is awesome

  • very nice!!!

  • nice job dude :)

  • Great!!!! Loved the sound of the e-bow on the acoustic!!!!!! can anyone please tell me how much does an e-bow costs???? I need to have one!!!!!!

  • about $100

  • Thanks man!! the only problem is that i haven't find anywhere in my country were i can buy one of those, i think i'm gonna ask for one in another country, i have been playing with a violin bow in some songs, please check my videos!!

  • WOW..GETTING ONE NOW!! That was great bro!

  • you should play a whole version. i like this

  • Beautiful :) 5 out of 5

  • That's amazing!!!!

  • Very cool use of the ebow to enhance, rather than supplement regular playing. Not many people can pull that off.

  • After hearing this, I really want one of those. You rock!

  • Good work fella. Hard to get acoustic guitars to respond "well" to an ebow but to play bass part too, well done

  • Thank's! I only "chattered" it a couple of times. lol

  • nice teeny guitar.. how would it work unplugged? i thought ebow disturbed the strings in a way that only a pickup could recognize... hmm...

  • This is unplugged! No electronics in my Seagull. I saw Chris Proctor on "Woodsongs".Com play a simalr style, different tune though. I also can play "Always On My Mind" by Willie Nelson using this style! Maybe I'll put it up someday. Thank's again

  • an ebow just vibrates the string... the ebow has a battery inside, which creates a magnetic field oscillating at the frequency required to vibrate the string.. and so the string physically vibrates and makes a sound.. the pickup just amplifies the vibrations, as usual...

  • brilliant...I think Edge would really dig it ...right where that song lives...from the heart

  • Thank's! Kind words indeed!

  • you're very talented bloke

  • Thank's! I appreciate it!

  • how much does an e bow cost?

  • Around $90 on ebay.

  • Blimey fngrpckr u r grateful - fair play!

I would also add though, that your vocal needs a bit've work i reckon. Myself, i can't sing for cat's shit, but if i were to give it a bash i'd def. go 4 lessons. R u?

    Regards.

  • I really just sing so I can play the song! lol Seriously, if there's a singer around I am much more content to sit back and play. That being said, I do enjoy singing and maybe if I took it more serious I'd improve, I'm sure I would actually! Maybe someday I'll go for vocal lessons.

    Thank's again,

    Darryl Chafe

  • That is very good.

  • Much appreciated!

  • awesome

  • Thank's

  • Good job!

  • Sorry vocals don't do it.

instrumet playing not bad - bit short though - what happened at the end

  • the vocals are nice imo

  • Thank's I appreciate it!

  • Thank's for watching!

  • Thank's

  • amazing

  • Thank's!

  • groovilicious. I do a little youtube on my page on a song called, Noise.

  • I´m gonna learn how to do it and then I´m gonna become the most popular girl in town! XD

  • You go!

  • Is that the way he did the original?

  • He played the album version with an ebow yes, not with an acoustic guitar. I think he had a delay on there too around 400 milleseconds. Its a clean tone.

  • Sweet

  • cool

  • thank you

  • pretty cool

  • Thank's!

  • that was good

  • Thank's!

  • i never knew a thng existed as a ebow

its real cool thanks to you tube and all who do these to bring out real stuff

  • Great great GREAT!

    I've got an eBow.

    You're great! nice voice too!

    Good luck man

  • Thank's, I appreciate it very much! I don't have an E-Bow anymore, but I will get another someday!

  • Good stuff, man. Very creative!

  • Thank's!!!

  • Wauw very cool. I bought an ebow myself, but I'm still trying to play so cool thing. I tryed to play this, but I still need more time :) very cool. play some more with the ebow, you're good!

  • I don't really own one, lol. I borrowed it from a guy I worked with. I will invest in one someday but for now I'm glad I did this video at least. Thank's for the kind words and if I ever get acess to one again, I'll post something for sure!

    Darryl

  • the song is supposed to played with an ebow if you look at the ebow website it listed as a song that was played with an ebow.

  • The website actually lists the *live* version of the song, as The Edge has Typically used an Ebow or (more recently) a Fernandes with their Sustainaic system. Both work well reproducing the Infinite Guitar sound on the album.

  • This is amazing. It's not perfect, but it's an awsome idea.

  • Very good idea playing the bass line along the Ebow drone!

  • very clever cheers!

  • Allright!!! I don't care for u2 myself, but your version is fuckin' good!! lofi dronecore 4ever hehe

  • Thank's! It does work well with an e-bow eh. I had to give it back but maybe I'll spring for one someday!

  • WOW thats fantastic, could you post the tab of this?

  • Thank's! Sorry, I did'nt tab it, I came up with this arrangement. I can tell you it's in open G, The bass notes are on the 7th fret_5th str,7thfret_6th str,9th fret_6th str,open_5th str,(notes are:D,A,B,G). The melody is entirely on the 2nd str, 7th,8th,10th,12th. I hope this is a little help. Let me know if you have any questions! Thank's again

  • cool , i didn't know that this song was played with that ebow thing
