Your math doesn't account for the natural ebb and flow of sales not including REO's or distressed sellers. Additionally you dismiss homeowners caught up in the mess as mere lucky participants ignoring the injustices they have or will go through without changes to the system. Without a proper chain of title it may as well be the wild west.. Anyone could file an NOD on your property and seize it without requisite documentation as absurd as that scenario is isn't it exactly whats going on already?
@rollints I am not attempting to "empathize" or side with "banks" but rather focus on what is important. Which is the "recovery" process. This bill clearly impedes the "recovery process". Unfortunately, there is no "elegant solution" at this time to "penalize the banks" and "force them to assist under water homeowners". However, penalizing new buyers, and current homeowners who pay their mortgage by extending the recovery time only helps delinquent borrowers...
