@FatMonsterIsEatin Sorry, but that's not the way I deal with things. If we "just put up with it", we would have not made the progress we have. Schools would still be segregated and African Americans would still be getting beaten and lynched. Just putting up with what's wrong with the system might be your idea of America, but it isn't mine. As long as I have a voice to raise against hate, I'll do just that, and like it or not, that's just something you have to put up with.

My country did bad things to black people in the past, around 1850 they putted an end to slavery but we never kept slaves in our own country only in Aruba, the antillen, suriname. All Dutch collonies, after ww2 they had immigration of those collonies and muslim countries coming here but never putted in ghetto's or anything, ofcourse there's racism but never much black people can had jobs there never was no racial difference.

granted, emancipation was meant to be a gradual process. its not like it wouldnt have happened in union areas in due time. however the proclamation also allowed blacks to enlist in the military which i would dare to say gave hope and patriotism to an entire race

i've read several and i am a student of history. i would not call lincoln a rasicst, he did so many things for the black race, and had he not been killed the civil rights laws and ammendments of the reconstruction era would have been enacted much sooner
