  • not him!

  • NOT HIM!! Grr Oh phoney

  • I think Moz's voice is more deep and resonant and it's difficult to think that he'd be singing with a thin voice and high notes throughout the whole song, so I guess it's not him. But I'd really like to hear more of this guy's songs. He's good anyway!

  • Doesn't even sound like him

  • I heard (and recorded) this song from Radio 1 (BBC) twice in 1995 (or could have been late '94). The DJ (I think it was Dave Pearce... maybe not) had said 'We've got Morrissey's new single coming later' so I'd sat there with my tape deck. They then played this later on in the show, without mentioning anything before or after the song was played. Weirdness! I think Boxers came out a few weeks later.

  • FREEBULLITT, i have this exact same track on cd. i always thought it was called MELANIE. I downloaded it from limewire in 2007 GLAD I FOUND IT

  • I have a bootlegg of Morrissey with some rare unreleased songs.

This song is appearing, not called ''A girl i used to know'' but ''Mélanie''.

I'm not sure but i think it is not the same version.

I'm far from home but i promiss to put it in as soon as possible.

There are no doubt concerning Morrissey singing.

  • @freebullitt : I talked to Boz and asked him, it is not Morrissey.. He has no idea who is singing this song, he wasnt on it. If u listen its not him..

  • @mozangeleskytten † How did you talk to Boz? †

  • @mozangeleskytten † Wow, you're really lucky :) †

  • Wasn't this an old smiths song? I'm sure morrissey wrote this didn't he?

  • Omfg, google, read info or anything before you comment! THIS IS MORRISSEY....

  • New, in the friganzi spitz.

  • This is sung Stephen Perrecy of "Perrecy", a German tribute act with Ukuleles.

  • a fairly decent imitation. In the future I expect to see Morrissey imitators much like you see Elvis Presley imitations today.

  • This is Morrissey. It was recorded, apparently, but the recording was lost and then ended up in someone's hands who released it for radio in Europe. This is what I'm told.

  • it sounds alot like morrissey, but nope it ain't him. I like this song though, i'm curious as to who it is. Anyone have a clue?

  • I'm firmly on the NOT Morrissey side of things. Good imitation, but no.

  • itz got a siq beat, to be sure. but i'm sure it's not moz.

  • morrissey confirm the reunion of the smith

  • no way

  • of course its morrissey you fuckin fools

call yourself fans, you cant even recognise his music. idiots

  • @theirie1234 no, no it`s not! are you deaf?

  • @69crafty

this song and a number of others, oh phoney and born to hang were made by morrissey and produced by steve lilywhite.

it was thought that they were not quite up to scratch. dickhead.

  • @theirie1234 i`am a dickhead for actually being able to here. Open ya fuckin ears, ITS NOT HIM!!!!!

  • @theirie1234 i talked to boz and its not morrissey.. he had no idea who sang this.

  • Morrissey or not, it's sounds great :-)

(I would be surprised if it were to be Morrissey)

  • This is NOT Morrissey!

  • sounds like a Dublin accent...

  • this isnt morrissey

  • i think its not bad anyway.

  • not even close

  • That's not Morrissey, but a rather sad immitation...

  • That's not Morrissey.

  • glad to see this up here. my favourite unreleased song.

  • The song is Morrisseyesque but it's not the man. I actually kind of like the song.

  • Of course it is he are you deaf?

  • I guess it'a Moz impersonator doing some sort of Jeane tribute/parody. It really sounds like a big 80s production of Jeane.

  • songwriting and vocal lines and style are almost uncanny. not moz singing though.

  • you mean this is not morrissey!?!?!?!?!? that sounds exactly like him... that is MORRISSEY.

  • You can blatantly tell that's not Morrissey.

  • not moz. :)

  • poo

  • I think this is actually a really great song, but it's definitely not the man himself.

  • shitty

  • sounds fuck all like him...its fucking shit...like Jon Culshaw or some one...really fucking bad...if you think for one nano-second that it could be Morrissey then you deserve to be thick than shit and I am glad you are...

  • I did hear this a long time ago, I really liked the song but I did think it was more David Bowie like than Morrissey.

Untill I hear Moz sing it at a show, its a Hoax

  • Too much wine: OBVIOUS hoax:)

  • Obvoius hoax:)
