This was the last piece I learnt before standing up last time from my piano. Excuses are school, university, moving... but I feel heartbroken. I miss my piano more than anything. I sat down, started playing, but stopped after 5 minutes. Uncontrollable crying is no friend of the pianist :) thank you for sharing :)
@Dnava28 THANK you! As corrected: My channel & it's 700 playlists are the history of music. This work was commissioned in 1876 by the editor of the St. Petersburg music magazine 'Nouvellist', as part of a series for each month of that year. For historical context, this was published the month before the USA centennial, being celebrated at that time with a massive exposition held in Philadelphia. Hope you come see my collection - I'm slowly adding in the 19th century masters. chuck
is it meant to be that fast? I play it way slower...hm. maybe I should speed it up. I'm a freshman :D so yeah. I probably make this piece sound like crap.
I really like this song and the picture. I would like to give some constructive criticism. Add more pictures of fall and winter. One static pic is rather lacking.
@The912Project912 Well I have learned something new today. I now know that Barcarolle means June. I have heard this song many times before and always thought it was a song about Fall turning into Winter. Thanks for the education.
This piece is used in a scene from The X-Files, its beautiful.

@perfectbeat
Barcarolle:
1. A Venetian gondolier's song with a rhythm suggestive of rowing.
2. A composition imitating a Venetian gondolier's song.
