excellent last question by the interviewer, hits the nail on the head. anyone can get laid, means she can get laid. she picks up crumbs sexual frustration pretty well but doesn't seem to empathise
Note from Ellen Forney: For the record: I love R. Crumb!! His work is awesome and inspiring, as was this mind-blowing exhibit of his work. I'm not sure why commenters here think I'm dissing him -?!
wow, this was really great. I love Ellen Forney's comics, and I've been reading Crumb for decades. I enjoying hearing her comments about him, because she is from a generation of cartoonists that came after him and is influenced by him. But she puts his work into perspective. I also really like seeing what she looks and sounds like after reading her comics for many years. The internet is really amazing. Years ago a fanzine interview would have been as close as I could get to something like this.
How dare this woman insinuate herself into any atmosphere or universe even remotely associated with one of the greatest American artists of the 20th century? I REALLY appreciate (not) her dismissive, supposedly intellectual, tone of voice.
She's cute. Her hair looks like shit, but she seems to have a nice hourglass figure. I was kinda hoping that they were gonna show her in a costume as one of her characters, or perhaps as one of Crumbs characters.

Wow! She's really performing her well rehearsed posture of being weird and quirky with admirable skill. If she keeps this up she'll be a cahsier at hot topic trying to relate to people 20 years younger than her in not time!
This lady has issues.

Because it sounds like you are dissing him. The interviewer leads you into it though, that's clear.
BTW I like your work.

@ellenforney "Inadvertently made an observation that had hidden unflattering meaning", I might say at most.
Clearly no malice intended and anyone that writes comics can usually stand a little bit of self-deprecating humour.
On the slip-side. Perhaps we could read some flirting into the interviewer instead :)
