  • @Luffy0123456789 What's a lucking life?

  • The centuries of adaptation, inculturation , progress etc.-all good coming from a balance of reason, courage & compassion- are being swept aside to welcome a return to savagery.

  • so far, the story seems to be verbatim... cool!

  • What a great film :) I appreciate this version a bit more than the 1990 one.

  • Ralph <3

  • the beginning was rlly creepy lol. with the singing and all :o

  • I'm watching it because I really liked the book and would like to see it as a film.

  • @AdmiralAwsomeful Same here. It's sad to see all these illiterate morons on here who can't get the book.

  • A great movie..and close to the book...piggy is so cute ..haha the english

  • i like how they actually do things as they say in the book as they do, and they use the exact same lines from the book other than the remake movie. Also they speak as their British! not like the remake movie.

  • Comment removed

  • i read the book and watched both movies :D GREAT! but this is much better than the remake! &book tops everything as alwayss! :D

  • @bruinsgirl28 "He blew from down here" O.O

  • ass-mar :)

  • is this movie just like everything mentions on the book?

  • @julieluv7myo no. there's a few differences from the movie and the book. For example, in the book Piggy polishes his glasses a lot. They don't really do that in the movie so much.

  • Wait why the fucking hell was the choir singing? They're stranded on a motherfucking island, I get the order thing but why the fuck are they singing? What he fuck?

  • @Luffy0123456789 LOL it's on Jack's orders. The moron.

  • "Sucks to your ass-mar"

That has to be the one of the most memorable lines from the book.

  • we hav to do this in english for our gcse love the film have havin to read the book

  • there must b perfect lightining in the mOvie :P

  • 9:19 the last thing you hear before a group of death marchers claim your soul is "Cheerio-Cherieh-Cheer-Cheeri..."

  • @AslanGriffindorLion No, its even worse than that. They are singing "Kýrie Kýrie Kýrie, eléison" Which translates to: "Lord, Lord, Lord have mercy" Freaked me out when I found it out.

  • Wow this clip makes ralph seem less like a jerk in ch. 1

  • choir is singing "We're gay we're gay we're gay, weeeee'rree gaaayyyy; we're we're GAAAAYYY"

  • @kleptomaniacpsa you made my day.

  • piggy's the cutest little kid ever haha

  • i watched this in my 3rd block

  • haha, what is the choir singing?

  • @XoXSarahXoBethXoX: Kyrie Eleison

  • 4:00 if you want to skip the intro because of your ass-mar

  • @Dragonfree97 LOL!

  • @bruinsgirl28 *conch, he has an accent tho so it sounded like cunt

  • Jack's group sounds like little angels :3 Oh, how far they fall... :(

  • The introduction is to fucking long....

  • Anyone else here the choir's song in drums during the planes?

  • @destroyaX def not!

  • @destroyaX nope

  • @destroyaX na i am to lol

  • @destroyaX Nopeee(: Hahaa(:

  • @destroyaX Most certaintly not

  • @destroyaX Lol watch the movie for now.You might enjoy the book later when you're a boring old fart like me.

  • hahahah same here!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @destroyaX

    hahaha same thing ;)

  • @destroyaX This is just about the only book in high school that I "HAD" to read....started reading it...and got hooked. Loved it, this will be the first time for watching it.

  • Comment removed

  • @destroyaX Good luck with that, you'll be a miserable failure xD The film leaves out a lot.

  • @destroyaX nope. lol

  • @destroyaX same

  • @destroyaX Same here...

  • we all have one boy at school/college who closely resembles piggy :')

  • don't know why but i kept repeating "balls" for the whole intro

  • what is the difference between this and the 1990 version of lord of the flies

  • @2pathways better acting in this one and more adherence to the novel in this one. that's more than enough to throw away the 90's one :)

  • @2pathways the 90s version tries to update it by using american teenage boys from a military school and it's more gruesome than the original and book.

  • An absolutely brilliant book. I didn't have to read it for school, I only wish my school would assign good books like Of Mice and Men, Catcher In The Rye, Lord Of The Flies, etc. But no, idiotic parents have to ban the crap out of them. Did they think banning the book would stop me from reading them or something?

  • why does it keep flickering green? is it supposed to do that? does it stop?

  • 7:12. Is it that hard to take a sock off? O_O

  • my english teacher had us read the book and make up our own version with an extra character. The only rule was, was that the new character was a girl. A sort of femine guidance. I ended up getting an A+!

  • @maywhirl818 no way me too! but i ended up getting an A-

  • @maywhirl818 I also read this for my english lit. class, (in 1970!). In discussion, we came to the conclusion that having a girl, or girls on the island would have led to an different dynamic, one which would have detracted from the 'descent into savagery' of boys when left to thier own devices. I remember the early 60s very well, and girls were, generally speaking, an alien race to us boys. The boys would have behaved differently in the presence of a girl, and sex would have become an issue.

  • @maywhirl818 You put in a female character, its add sexual tension, kinda creepy at their age, but effective I think. One of the boys may consider the girl his only thing most fighting for and become a violent with his protection. Yes it would work with the girl.

  • @maywhirl818 i wish my teacher did that. she's making us write an essay about how Ralph was developed by the author

  • Lord of the files 1963 is the only good film adaption of any book

  • Best version ever!!! Perfect adaptation of the book, the 1990 version is ok, but this one is the best!! I love Ralph and Jack in this their so hot!!!

  • Moral: put a tan on and english boy and he will automatically become hawt!

  • Ralphs adorable in this!!!

  • I actually didn't read this book for English class. I was curious when I heard about it and after I read it I decided I wanted to see the movie. (What sparked my curiosity was seeing Piggy's death.) I'm also on SparkNotes looking at themes and motifs...I feel like such a nerd xDD

  • I love this version but the one made later was ok too.

  • haha this book was actually very tolerable to read..like i hate school books but this wasnt bad haha

  • I feel like the only one who actually waited to finish the book for English class before watching the movie

  • @completelyabsurd Well you're not the only one. :)

  • the book was wayyyy better than the movie

  • what part does simon die in???

  • @ArabellaCortez1 RUINED THE FILM :O PRICK!!!!!

  • @TheBuddhaPunk Well if you had actually read the book, it wouldn't have been spoiled for you

  • The 90s version sucks. It doesn't stay true to the book at all.

  • @dragonbreathstinks I wasn't surprised. That movie was just a pathetic cash-in. "Lets adapt one of the most famous books of all time and add our own bad touches! That will make us some money!" This movie was released just less than a decade after the book was made so I wasn't surprised that this was the superior version.

  • I feel sooooooo sorry for Piggy; he had it hard

  • awwwwwww PIGGY'S SO CUTE

  • I came here 'cause of Red Dead Redemption......if you know why, you're awesome.

  • @CharmieKid I killed the boar too, guess I'm awesome.

  • @hanseykemmerer You are now awesome :)

  • @CharmieKid Find and kill Gordo The Boar

  • half yearlies suck

  • thanks! love it!

  • @TheJr714 spot on!

  • whats the song at the beginning? when they show the choir in a picture

  • @SummerSparkle321

It's Kyrie Eleison. It means "Lord, have mercy" in Greek. It's a rather fitting song for the movie.

  • @SummerSparkle321 haha, it is rather fitting. thanks!

  • nice BRITISH! :P

  • I haven't seen this version since I was a sophomore in high school-14 years ago this fall. I still remember some of it. I liked this version because it was closer to the book, but the 1990 version isn't too bad. Not great, but watchable.

  • percival wemys madison, the vicarage, harcourt st anthony, telephone... tele-phone :D

  • that song gets stuck in my head every time

  • Lol kids are adorable here

  • The book had a crap load of boring parts, still, at least I got a C+ on my quiz!

  • I just finished reading this book for my english class...Piggy is so pudgy :)

  • who was playing the music wen the choir entered

  • hahaha piggy is so awkward that it's funny

  • i have read the book but didnt undestand a thing..and we're having a test..

  • piggy is so cute! this version is so much better and truer to the book

  • I love the choir's entrance (though that's probably because I'm in a choir myself)! You know something epic's coming when you hear some people singing Kirie Eleison!

  • piggy isnt really fat

  • @jaketjaket thnx saved me the misery :)

  • Thumbs up if the only reason you're watching this is for a English assignment!! haha

  • skip to 4:00 coz thats when the actually film starts :P

  • haha, I'm watching it with the 1911 thing over it and it looks awesome :)

  • Yes! I read the book for my Survey of World Literature class, and I have to say, it's much better reading it in college than in high school. Maybe it's my age or our in-depth discussions, or maybe my professor is just awesome. xD Anyway, loved the novel and I've been told this movie is more accurate than the '90s one. I hope! Thanks for posting.

  • im in 6th grd and im reading the book >.>

  • why was this in my recommended videos for 5 months when all i watch are videos about computer parts and college humor

  • Can't believe the actors who played the kids actually had to live on the island for 3 months in a factory, without good pay.

  • 7:21 , best part.

  • Seriously? This was the best shit I've ever had to write an essay on. I would marry the characters if it was legal. And if they were real.

  • The comment best rated here is "fuck 10th grade english".

Yes, culture and education require more than eating fast food and watching blockbusters. No wonder why the western culture is in unstoppable decline.

  • one person has ass-mar :(

  • @rampage597n Sucks to your ass-mar.

  • @Olamtir haha u read the book,huh?:D

  • @Olamtir Sucks to your auntie.

  • this book is awesome if you read it not as an assignment but as something to learn from...you kids are too young to understand...when i read it back in school i felt the same way...just reread it and enjoyed every bit...i remember watching this movie in school and sleeping through it so im rewatching it to see if it lives up to the epicness of the book

  • @rhittratt342 Maybe for some kids, But Enjoy reading... I knew what this book was about, in 6th grade.....

  • @rhittratt342 I agree with you on that one but im in High school and we just finished reading the book and I like story's with drama but I know what your saying most of the people in my class didn't like it but I think its good its dark and carries a deep message but yeah its easier to enjoy it when its not an assignment

  • this book is so gross.

  • I was going to watch the 1990 version, but as soons as I saw the boys were wearing cadet uniforms and they had a glowstick I switched to this version jeje

But Sam and Eric should be older, right? They are part of the bigluns

  • @AmorettiFeather Yeah, I started watching the 90s version.... And decided, it as good. 7m30 in and it was complete dff. from the book.

  • i watched the entire movie and the only thing that really stuck with me was how hot some of them probably were as teenagers. lol. yeah. 8th grade english sucks.

  • Failed grade 10 English badly. And it was General level. Went back to school a couple of years later and realized that my teacher was an asshole who knew nothing and I graduated grade 12 with an A+. I am not a big fan of teachers in general but the ones that I had in high school were TERRIBLE. Middle school too! Didn't give a shit about anything except a paycheck and summers off.

  • I read the book when I was in 7th Grade. I love the Book way more. ( :

  • WELL THEN WE'LL HAVE TO LOOK AFTER OUR SELVES!

  • If only Ralph was blonde and Jack had red hair, then this would be perfect.

  • PIGGY IS A HOOT!!!

  • what is that theyre singing at the end of this video?

  • @AmgCJoop

They are singing Kýrie, eléison. It means "Lord, have mercy." in Greek

  • thank you so much!

  • I just wanted to comment and say thank you to the uploader, I really wanted to see this because I read this for 9th grade honors english and I really wanted to see the movie version. They didn't have it at my blockbuster for some odd reason. But thank you, this is helpful.

  • This one had crappy acting but it was more faithful to the book, the newer one was altered beyond repair!!!

  • RIP James Aubrey

    Best Ralph EVER!!

  • @GetOutAlive perrv...

  • Watching The Movie So I Wont Have To Read The Book! :D

  • I love this book

  • Wheres the part where the childern are naked?

  • @GetOutAlive thinking the same thing :D

  • @GetOutAlive prevv much?

  • i saw this movie today it was good if you wonder i am 11

  • It's only Keith.....

  • @Larvemannenz001 Yes, it is.

  • Is this a kids' novel?

  • i bet most of havent read the book and are wacthing this because a teachers told were having a test

  • @TheJr714 Prob. but they should read the book, It's very good :D

  • @TheJr714

Actually, no is the answer for me. I'm watching the movie, pausing it at certain times, and then using the 'snipping tool' on my computer. I couldn't find that many pictures of Jack from certain scenes on the internet, so I'm using the snipping tool. This is for a project.

  • @TheJr714 actully i read it first then i bought the movie the 1963 one and the 1990 one i have to say both of the movies are good

  • @TheJr714 you got me :)

  • @TheJr714 got a final tomorrow >.<

  • @TheJr714 i read the book, and loved it, so i want to see how dissapointed i am at the movies, but i really liked the 1990 version

  • I feel stupid for asking this but what does "Sucks to your asthma" mean?(I'm obivously American)

Is it like "sucks that you have asthma" or "your asthma sucks" ?

  • @ILovecandy546 its when sucks was brand new and today it means "who cares about your asthma!"

  • @Adimanstudios Oh okay then, thank you!

  • @ILovecandy546 it's an insult. :) It's like saying your asthma sucks, but not in a sympathetic way.
