Mason was somewhat recluse and could not be tempted into collaborations, film scores or at the top of his list of things not to do, live gigs. He was trying to make the jump to installation/fine art/museums etc.
@TMIAudio Didn't Bob do a live gig at Radio City? I heard that somebody from the audience got backstage and trashed his synth. Any truth to that story?
@marscape1 i had this LP when it came out on vinyl in "74". this WAS NOT with 2 "2500" synths, mason stated his synth was a combination of "ARP Oydessy" part's and some "Diy" parts. great 70's electronic music though,i alway's wondered what happen to this guy. there was a another great electronic LP that came out in "74" too it was by a guy named "Timo Laine" he played a "360" Easton guitar synthesizer interfaced to 12 Oberheim Sem's. i wore that OUTtttttttttttttt. guitar synth rock.
glad to see this on youtube! I've been DJing this song for a few years now at my live gigs. I found it in a thrift store pile for 25 cents! It looked cool so I bought it. When I got home I called up my fellow DJ's, had them come over and listen, and we were all just blown away. I especially love the picture on the back with him looking all pompous sitting on his special machine and the pretentious paragraph under it.
Hi. That is real funky!! I have always liked that music. It reminds me of an episode from Buck Rogers in the 25th century, about a rock band that played music from a space station/studio.
Ultradoublefuture-awesome!

I just wanna put glitter on my sideburns and have a car chase scene in the middle of a city with William Shatner inked on my steering hand

That was not a look, he really was that pompous and pretentious. I worked with him for several years.

@Model10b Just wondering if Robert Mason is still around and is he still playing this type of music. It would be real cool to see him play this live.

Saw Mason and his crew at the original Kitchen in NYC back in '72 where his synth playing blew everyone away! Thanks for posting this.

It was an episode called 'Space Rockers'. Nice to know they still appreciate synths 500 years in the future !
