The fact that so many people on here did not think that Chapelle was deep and intelligent is exactly why he left his show. If you see this piece in its entirety he tells her that he left because someone laughed but not when they were supposed to. He was trying to do social commentary and people were just laughing at the crack references and Rick James skits. I just watched this episode for the third time on T.V but I never seem to catch the whole thing. Is there any place where I can watch the whole thing? Every time I see this is very warming and appealing for me. This is an awesome series. I also liked Chappelle's appearance on Actor's Studio. Maybe he should write books to keep in the public eye without having to be in the public eye. Certainly more control as an author. It worked for Steve Martin. Not sure if his fans read books, but I'm a fan and I read books so maybe there are others.
Most of Dave's recent popularity has come from Comedy Central. Comedy Central doesn't attract a majority of literary types (the graphic novel types, sure, and college students who can quote you their required reading list). Certainly out of the millions of viewers thousands and thousands will be avid readers, but I'm referring to even bigger numbers that might attract a publisher. News junkies tend to read a lot, as do sci-fi types, I don't really see it among comedy.

@RealTime88 Why is the Catholic Church the wealthiest? Why church imposed taxes of course, plus donations and confiscated wealth for about a thousand years. They used peoples faith to con money from peasants to build churches, satanic claims to steal from the rich, pilaging from the crusades ect. Up until the last 100 years the catholic church was the most powerful organization in the western world since Jesus. The vatican city holds alot of the worlds wealth still today.

This is an awesome series. I also liked Chappelle's appearance on Actor's Studio. Maybe he should write books to keep in the public eye without having to be in the public eye. Certainly more control as an author. It worked for Steve Martin. Not sure if his fans read books, but I'm a fan and I read books so maybe there are others.

Most of Dave's recent popularity has come from Comedy Central. Comedy Central doesn't attract a majority of literary types (the graphic novel types, sure, and college students who can quote you their required reading list). Certainly out of the millions of viewers thousands and thousands will be avid readers, but I'm referring to even bigger numbers that might attract a publisher. News junkies tend to read a lot, as do sci-fi types, I don't really see it among comedy.

Nope, I read it for fun. I read Anna Karenina for fun as well. It's not really that strange for someone to read the best novels ever written just for fun. If I had said I watched The Godfather, or Citizen Kane would you have assumed I must be taking a Film Studies class?

The Godfather, no (I think that's considered popular entertainment despite its honors). Citizen Kane, yes (once you know the meaning of Rosebud what's the point except a good reason not to visit Hearst Castle?). There is a difference between "best" and "favorite". I don't think people read Tolstoy for the same reasons they read Herman Melville or Jack London, let alone Clive Cussler or J.K. Rowling.

I heard that Dave Chappelle and Maya Angelou had an affair and his wife found out about it. Dave tried to cover it up by having Maya remove his name from her cell phone but it was too late. Dave's wife chased him out of the house with a microphone stand and smashed the back window of his Chevy Impala which he ultimately crashed into a tree. Because he was all cut up he went into hiding in Africa. His wife is keeping him home now like a prisoner, he's not allowed to leave.
